Hear me out: A real-time cooperative/strategic virtual table-top war game where everyone manages specialized units to wage war against a powerful nation run by an imperialist dictator. #GameDev #GameIdea

I accidentally became President of a nation. I found this new subreddit: reddit.com/r/virtualdemocracy. As the Speaker of Parliament, I’m the acting President too. Anyways, we’re still accepting candidates for the actual first President, and that honor could be yours! #PoliticalExperiment #Reddit

Hear me out: a pixel art game where your health is represented by a candle that is constantly burning down, and you need to find new candles to keep yourself alive. Also you can only see a certain radius around yourself, which shrinks as your candle burns down. #gamedesign #gamedev #randomgameidea

I stumbled across something called a “simulated democracy”, and I think it’s a cool social experiment concept. There’s one that’s starting up on Reddit at the moment called r/VirtualDemocracy if anyone wants to join in the shenanigans. #politics #fakepolitics #rp #socialexperiment #democracy

Gaming Question: What’s the worst thing that video game companies do, and what would you do instead if you had a say? All input is appreciated, including and especially slightly-off-topic rants. Thanks! #Gaming #Question #GameCompanies #HorribleBusinessPractices #HelpMeImprove

Working on a C++ program that makes random Minecraft mazes. The green represents areas that are actually reachable by players. Hopefully I’ll be able to get rid of more of the gray by fine-tuning the settings. I am also working on a Minecraft mod that can translate the maze to the game. #Minecraft

I’ve been tinkering with the menu for my next demo. It’s vaguely Norse-inspired, and will showcase “the weapon”. Originally these boxes were going to be ui, but they’re too big. I invented a little runic pixel language for this, so the symbols around the edges actually mean something.

Idea: a PvP Minecraft server with a limited map and no block breaking. Players struggle to survive a dark, dungeon-like maze, gathering resources and fighting hostile mobs (plus other players). There are clans and static clan bases. The map changes each night at midnight. #Minecraft #GameIdea

One day I’m going to make a factory-style production-based video game with a fully fleshed out multiplayer combat system (the actual buildings themselves will fight). I have no clue what that means, but I’ll take suggestions if anyone wants to contribute to my insanity. #gamedev #indiegamedev

I’m working on the next demo for my game: the weapons system!! There’s only one weapon, and it’s going to be absolutely crazy and fully customizable. I’m flavoring it as magic for the demo, but it’ll be tech in the final version. Preview coming soon! #gamedev #sologamedev #indiegamedev #prototype

Hear me out: We make a slogan for human made content. Make it brief and sound cool. Encourage people to mark their own stuff with it rather than a clunky “no ai” message. Create ownership and belonging. If you use it for anything ai-generated, we collectively block you, regulating it organically.

Linux compatibility is now available for my Factory Demo game on itch.io This is a big deal, since it means future projects can be Linux compatible as well. echo-silicon.itch.io/factory-demo #GameDev #SoloGameDev #DemoGame #Prototype

I am still working on Linux compatibility for my demo game on echo-silicon.itch.io/factory-demo. In the meantime, if anyone has ideas for the other two building types, please let me know! I’ve been considering add a “piston” like from Minecraft, but I’m not sold on the idea yet.
