Villa's January signings combine to make the difference, double-edged sucker-punch there for Chelsea, who had otherwise put in an improved showing. But they make errors, too many of them (not just the keeper). Winless run on the road goes on. #cfc

At Villa Park. Just the one change for Chelsea, James starts for Madueke. But Maresca names three full backs (plus Cucurella and Gusto) and just the one winger (Neto). Curious set up expected...? Four changes for Villa. Konsa fit to start, Rashford on the bench. #AVLCHE

Cole Palmer is at his best when he plays the game with a nonchalant shrug but at the moment he cuts a frustrated figure. Chelsea aren't as carefree, and he's struggling with that. A look at how #cfc's drop off is impacting his recent form: www.thetimes.com/article/bb8f...

A superb win for Brighton, inspired by Mitoma's sublime goal. But grim again from Chelsea, their worst display of the season. First time since 2021 they've not registered a shot on target in a PL game. Kaoru Mitoma’s magic touch ignites Chelsea implosion: www.thetimes.com/sport/footba...

Four changes for Chelsea at Brighton. Colwill for Tosin, Fernandez for Dewsbury-Hall, Madueke for Sancho and Jorgensen, the new PL no1, for Sanchez. One change for Brighton, as Webster replaces the injured Dunk. #bhache

There was talk of a January departure for Christoper Nkunku, but now after injuries to Jackson and Guiu, Chelsea may need to rely on him. He has not been an exact fit in Enzo Maresca's system so far. So, how do #cfc get the best out of him? www.thetimes.com/sport/footba...

Neither Jackson or Guiu are in the squad for Chelsea at Brighton, which means Christopher Nkunku leads the line. Robert Sanchez assumes the role of Cup goalkeeper, after Maresca said yesterday he'd judge his No 1 "game by game". Cole Palmer also starts. #cfc

Cole Palmer has been added to #cfc squad for the knockout phase of the Conference League. Wesley Fofana and Romeo Lavia have been left out, mainly help with load management after injuries. Mathis Amougou and Trevoh Chalobah also registered.

Fulham are in talks to re-sign Willian. The Brazilian ripped up his contract at Olympiakos last month. www.thetimes.com/sport/footba...

Robert Sanchez dropped by Enzo Maresca. Filip Jorgensen starts.

En route to Stamford Bridge, but from earlier, Chelsea have agreed a fee of around £12m for 19yo midfielder Mathis Amougou, of St-Etienne. #cfc among a few clubs interested in Dario Essugo but that's with a view to the summer. www.thetimes.com/article/7664...

It didn't feel sustainable to have Felix sitting on the bench and he's now on his way to AC Milan. Agreement reached with Chelsea for a loan, no buy option, cost of around £4.5m with wages covered. #cfc www.thetimes.com/sport/footba...

Bournemouth working on a deal for 18yo forward Eli Junior Kroupi, would then be loaned back to Lorient. One theyre trying to do before deadline, but may revisit in the summer. www.thetimes.com/sport/footba...

Told Nkunku is set to stay at #cfc as it stands, barring late developments. United were keen, but nothing moving. Spurs no longer in for Disasi, now whether Villa can do loan. Chukwuemeka to join Dortmund on loan. Anselmino to OM in the balance. www.thetimes.com/sport/footba...

Bits from today: Palace might turn to Ben Chilwell but as a last resort, looking for left-sided CB. Burnley finalising a move for Edwards from Sporting CP. Dortmund have made loan bid for Chelsea's Chukwuemeka. Fulham want Roma's Zeki Celik on loan: www.thetimes.com/sport/footba...

Mainoo, the No 10? Amorim: "He was struggling a lot defending as a midfielder. Now more as a No10, you can feel it that he was so free, playing the ball near the box, and near the box he is really good" www.thetimes.com/article/89a6...

Can United really afford to sell Garnacho or Mainoo? Financial concerns are there but as tonight showed they need more of their youthful dynamism/threat, not less of it. Impact from Garnacho/Diallo from the bench key victory tonight. Report from Bucharest: www.thetimes.com/article/7655...

Villa looking at Joao Felix, who also has interest from Milan. No decision yet on his situation. Villa set to sell Jhon Duran to Al-Nassr, + they're also leading the race to sign Disasi, he/Nkunku situation could affect any Felix move. More in here: www.thetimes.com/article/9e07...

Ruben Amorim offers an olive branch to Rashford in Bucharest, for the first time: "Our team should be so much better with Rashford. But he has to change. If he changes, we would more than welcome a talent like Rashford — and we need him." www.thetimes.com/article/03de...

A very un-Forest like goal to concede. Caught out when pressing up the field (don't say that too often). Not a complicated move to free Kluivert, who was offered an invitation to shoot and it was a superb finish. 1-0. #BOUNFO

He's been clocked at 23mph, and was plucked out of Belarus by Lens for £84,000 by a scout watching L'Equipe TV. Now he's a £42m Premier League player. On #mcfc's Khusanov, the quiet defender set to be a trailblazer for his country: www.thetimes.com/article/ad37...

Maresca backed Sanchez following his latest mistake but insisted he is a long way from where he wants him to be. Ahead of tonight's trip to City, he also said he feels Palmer is still improving, becoming the player #cfc can turn to in moments of adversity: www.thetimes.com/article/d2df...

Royal's injury sustained last night vs Girona means Fulham have now turned to other targets.

From last night on a game that could be a turning point for Luis Enrique's young side. Not often you talk about resolve and resilience with #PSG, but that's what they showed against City: www.thetimes.com/article/953d...

Renato Veiga is heading to Juventus on loan, agreement reached with no option to buy and a loan fee of €5m (with colleague Gary Jacob). Seen off competition from Dortmund, and as noted on Tuesday Chelsea's stance on a loan changed. Means he will return in summer. #cfc

4-2. Ramos's goal stands. The Parc des Princes erupts, Luis Enrique is mobbed on the touchline and then congratulated by Pep Guardiola. One of PSG's best ever European nights.

In three minutes, one then two, Grealish, and now Haaland. There's the smarts.

Not surprised at all to see Dembele on at half time. Replaces Lee. City have made two changes. Grealish and Lewis on for Dias and Savinho. The latter is surprising, a knock maybe for Savinho? Pep wanting more control? Felt he was City's brightest (+ quickest!) player first half

I've not seen much of City live, but their drop off in intensity off the ball is a bit striking really. PSG are quite raw, especially in the final third where they still look a bit blunt, but they do have that bit more zip, compared to almost a slugglishness with City.

In Paris for PSG-City. Big surprise for PSG is Dembele does not start. He had been suffering with flu. No no9 again for them either, with one of Doue or Lee leading the line. Sharp contrast to 10-year deal Haaland for Guardiola... #PSGMCI

Vitinha: "We don’t have a problem talking about it. Kylian is one of the best, if not the best. We knew it would be difficult. You can’t replace him directly. But you replace him with the team. That’s what we did." Interview ahead of #PSGMCI: www.thetimes.com/article/ca3c...

Mikkel Damsgaard is close to agreeing a new deal at Brentford — five-and-a-half year contract which will take him to 2030. (As per @tipsbladet.bsky.social).

Told Fulham have enquired about Emerson Royal, at Milan. He’s a target along with Milan van Ewijk at Coventry. Not clear if move for him now or summer, but Royal’s situation set to change with Milan close to signing Kyle Walker. Tete currently out injured long term for #FFC.

Juventus and Dortmund both pushing to sign Renato Veiga, plus two PL clubs. Told he will go this window, and Chelsea willing to accept a loan as well as a permanent, aware that player wants regular game time for WC spot. Told a decision is close. #cfc

Chelsea are lucky to have Trevoh Chalobah, really. He holds no grudges. He once again answered his club's call. Standout performer as Chelsea return to winning ways: #CFC www.thetimes.com/sport/footba...

Cole Palmer is fit to start against Wolves. But no Fernandez, Lavia or Colwill in the squad. Trevoh Chalobah starts after his recall from Palace, as does Reece James and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. Neto in for Sancho. Cunha returns for Wolves as part of three changes. #CHEWOL

In many ways, Vitinha has become a symbol of PSG's new era. Exclusive interview on adapting to Paris, a dressing room of Neymar and Messi, learning at Wolves, "intense" Luis Enrique, replacing Mbappe and relishing a crucial clash with City. www.thetimes.com/article/ca3c...

João Felix is a gifted footballer, who has spoken of his ambition, but can that be fulfilled as the back up to Cole Palmer? www.thetimes.com/article/cbcd...

No recognised striker, 12 senior players, one PL debut, bench of academy grads, Newcastle on record winning streak, point off top four, 10 unbeaten... it's unbelievable

A ridiculous result for Bournemouth. Sensational work from Iraola — just look at the bench they had today. Even more depleted than Tuesday! Remarkable.

Zaha set for the MLS, as his loan with Lyon is set to be terminated, but Neymar not likely to follow him to the US, I'm told: www.thetimes.com/sport/footba...

Maresca says Cole Palmer, Enzo Fernandez, Levi Colwill and Romeo Lavia didn't train today. Palmer picked up an ankle knock vs Bournemouth. "He didn’t train today and we don’t know if he will train tomorrow or in two days." #cfc

I missed the 5-0 drubbing by Brentford but every time I've seen Southampton under Juric they've looked more competitive. Sulemana out from the cold and thriving, looks a better fit in this system, more pragmatic. Keep playing like this and that Derby benchmark will pass...
