It’s finally here!! Issue 1 of the froggiest lit mag humanity and frog-kind alike have ever known is officially live!! Check it out at our website here: croaklit.com/issue-1

One of the most common arguments you hear from fans of generative ‘AI’ is that it’s not plagiarizing people’s work, it’s just learning like a human learns. So I’m going to break down why that’s just not true, and why it can never be true, with the existing systems. 1/

A solution we can get behind

#TBT from former Oklahoma Poet Laureate Carl Sennhenn, who passed away last August. Read his poem "Losses," from petrichor 11 (Summer 2019).

the word "bucolic" is so weird. it refers to a cozy farmhouse next to an apple orchard with plump speckled chickens running around in the yard, but it sounds like something that would be the cause of death of a Victorian child

Dadakuku now has a merch shop! There will be shirts with images taken from the covers of the anthologies, among other designs, but I came up with this design first, so I just had to get this out. There are other products and variants available, check it out! dadakuku.printify.me

Because they’re sticking it in everything whether it makes an actual improvement or not. Desperate bastards.

got to blurb a great chapbook recently, and gosh I love poets and poems

People are seeking books to teach their kids about diversity & belonging. What I hear: They're looking for books from a plethora of perspectives! Here are a few books, you & your kids may already be reading them ☺️ (🧵 1/4)

'Aggregate' Typewritten terms and abbreviations from the map of a suburban area measuring ten by ten kilometres: ‘TQ26, Ordnance Survey 1:25000 second series’; London, 1992/94. p.24–25, 'Manifold / Colin Sackett, publishing 1984–2024' uniformbooks.co.uk/manifoldonline.php

N. Scott Momaday was an underrated poet, too.

This morning's quick reminder: generative AI is a natural resource-guzzling plagiarism machine that exploits creatives to enrich tech bros. Do not use it to create art or writing. Do not conduct "fun" experiments with it to show us how awful it is. There is no ethical use for AI. Let it die.

We're back with another great and intriguing piece! Today it's @clinforth.bsky.social's "Homesick" To read this great piece in full in visit: www.thedodgemag.com/christopherl...

Saying that AI can "help you come up with ideas" is such a tell. I've literally never known a single creative person who has said "Wow, I wish I had more ideas". Ideas are everywhere. There is not an ideas shortage and never will be. Claiming that's the bottleneck tells me you have zero imagination.

Song for the Lady in the Radiator (after David Lynch) originally published in Grimsy no. 4, 2023.

Well damn. When I posted this story on New Year’s Day, I never imagined we’d be losing this titan of film just two weeks later. I hope wherever you are now, Mr. Lynch, your mother is there to fix you a good breakfast. #davidlynch #twinpeaks #bluevelvet

Okay folks. It's December 23rd. If you're out shopping anywhere today (but especially at a bookstore, wherein my experience most lies), there is but one rule: Don't. Be. An. Asshole. Expanded, this rule breaks down in to ten sub-clauses:

the eve of Christmas Eve
