We’ve joined with over 180 organizations condemning the Trump administration's most recent attack in their ongoing assault on public service. Trump cannot and must not weaponize the PSLF to punish public servants for their work for the American people. Read the full letter below 👇

Vice President Cook was proud to join UPTE workers on the picket line demanding the UC system stop its unfair labor practices, and come back to the table to bargain in good faith. UC, we demand a fair contract now!

Trump's attempt to use executive action to stop funding America's public media is an attack on workers and American's First Amendment rights. cwa-union.org/news/release...

UPTE is on strike! It’s time for UC to come back to the bargaining table, negotiate in good faith, and cease its unfair labor practices. #MayDay

Our message is clear: UC has the resources to invest in the frontline workers who carry out its mission for the people of California every day. Their unfair labor practices and hiring freeze do nothing to help our patients, students, or research #union #mayday

This International Workers Day, workers across the country are standing up and fighting for their rights. Their right to live a healthy and dignified life. Their right to democracy at work and in government. Their right to their fair share. Today and every day, solidarity forever. #MayDay

Sonya was asked why the public should care about the staffing issues and unfair labor practices at UC, and you need to hear her answer. It's not just a healthcare issue—UC workers also advance ground-breaking research and support a world-class education for students.

Happy May Day! On May 1st, and everyday, we celebrate worker power and honor those who came before us and fought for workers' rights. Today, we keep up that fight.

Tomorrow! The technicians, laboratory, and hospital workers who make the UC system run walk out to demand that UC come back to the table, bargain in good faith, and stop its unfair labor practices.

Lots going on in Oregon right now and many ways to show solidarity (a 🧵). University of Oregon Student Workers are on strike! You can support them from anywhere by donating to their hardship or picket line support funds: higheredlaborunited.org/2025/04/29/s...

The Trump administration just announced in court that they’ll be reversing their illegal revocation of thousands of student visas. This is a win in our fight against authoritarianism and for free speech, but it is not enough. Trump and ICE must free all detained students and political prisoners.

On Take Your Child to Work Day, we’re preparing the next generation of the labor movement to take on greedy CEOs and billionaires ✊ #BetterInAUnion

The fight for dignified work and a livable planet are inextricably intertwined. This #EarthDay we celebrate the work of public sector workers and organizers who’ve defended our climate from the billionaires and arsonists trying to destroy our home.

Climate change is putting workers at risk with more frequent and dangerous weather events, increased risk of heat injuries, and more. CWA has been fighting for justice for decades and we will continue to do whatever we can for a better future. #EarthDay

The Worker Protection Act strengthens unions by modernizing Colorado's labor law so workers are free to negotiate for safety and pay. Call the Governor of Colorado and tell him to sign the Worker Protection Act: 303-866-2885

Across the southeast UCW members are standing up against Trump’s attacks on higher education and free speech. From rallies to petition collection and op-ed’s our members are organizing to meet the moment, Kill the Cuts, and win a better world.

Last week we joined TSEU-CWA Local 6186 Members rallying to demand an across-the-board $10,000 pay increase for all workers, COLA, and other improvements to retiree pensions. We must reverse the trends of privatization, fully fund our state services and universities, and protect free speech.

Huge congratulations to the Protect Utah Workers Coalition on collecting over 320,000 signatures (well beyond the required 140,748) to repeal Utah’s draconian anti union HB.267. Solidarity! 💪🏔️

🧵Since taking office Trump has revoked 1000s of students Visas across the country. “These are real human beings, real contributing members of society that are being taken from us." Many are not being given reason for why their visa is revoked. Hear more from @ucwarizona.bsky.social 1/6

Keeping Students Safe has partnered with immigration lawyers from Green Evans-Schroeder to host a Legal Info Session for International Students in Arizona tonight from 5 to 7pm MST. You can register at tinyurl.com/kssinfosession, or at the link in bio.

TBT! For as long as we’ve been a union PHEW has proudly fought against the privatization of our civil services. Here’s a photo from a MASE picket in the early 90’s marching against the same forces we face today.

No educator should fear for their safety while teaching. Let alone without healthcare, @harryszabo.bsky.social said it best, no one benefits more from dignified working conditions than our students. It’s long overdue VA pass Collective Bargaining and protect both our educators and their students.

Thank you, Bernie, for lending your voice to our fight to protect public healthcare, research, and education, and end unfair labor practices at the @uofcalifornia.bsky.social. Our patients, communities, and students can't wait. Join our May Day ULP strike: upte.org/ucstrike #union #FightOligarchy

DOGE is a criminal conspiracy to defraud the people of the United States

Tax the rich.

Since March 27th, the Trump Administration has revoked the visas of 1000+ students for practicing their first amendment rights. We unequivocally condemn these actions, and demand institutional resistance from our universities. Our members won’t stand for these infringements upon our rights.

🧬Public research saves lives! Yesterday we joined with workers outside the Senate where VP Cook demanded the Trump Regime #KillTheCuts before they kill us!

🚨Statement from Vice President Margaret Cook on Student Abductions and Trump Administration Attacks on Free Speech:

Emilya, President of @uaw.org Local 2750, is concerned about the impacts of DOGE gutting our health agencies. “Nobody voted to end cancer research… If we are not able to do that research, no one else is going to do it.”

VP Cook joined with workers and legislators outside the Capitol today to speak in favor of the #PublicServiceFreedomToNegotiate Act. Public servants who clock in everyday to make our communities safe, healthy and vibrant deserve the same basic rights to organize and be part of a #union. #PSFNA

Local 7799 Leader Eyklipse Baca just spoke outside of the Capitol to urge Congress to pass the #PublicServiceFreedomToNegotiate Act, and recognize the public sector’s right to organize ourselves and fight for safe, just, and dignified work. #PSFNA

The Public Service Freedom to Negotiate Act would finally restore public sector collective bargaining rights across 25 states. State & local workers deserve a voice on the job. Today, we’re standing with labor leaders & allies to show anti-worker politicians there's a better way.

Public service workers like teachers, nurses & sanitation workers keep our communities safe & strong. They deserve the freedom to join together in a union. Now more than ever, as union rights are under attack, we urge Congress to pass the Public Service Freedom to Negotiate Act!

As @nffe.bsky.social President Randy Erwin said, firing hundreds of thousands of federal workers who keep the essential services that working families rely on running, like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, is not efficient. It's a recipe for disaster.

Today!

Join us in urging Washington Post management to voluntarily recognize the Washington Post Tech Guild and begin bargaining with us immediately! Sign our petition below. bit.ly/wapo-action

🚨 Trump’s proposed cuts to NIH funding jeopardize vital medical research that saves lives. Join us tomorrow April 8th in standing with scientists, patients, and workers across the country for a national day of action and demand that Trump admin #KillTheCuts 🧬🩺 bit.ly/phewkillthec...

Since the March 8 abduction of Mahmod Khalil from the Columbia University campus for his activism and speech, the Trump Administration has seized at least seven additional international graduate students and scholars across the country. cwa-union.org/news/release...
