#musicchallenge The challenge is to post album covers that I own for a year. Here’s number one. When Midge Ure was with Ultravox they produced some of the best New Wave rock ever. “Brilliant” is among my top four Ultravox albums, alongside “Quartet,” “Vienna” and “Rage In Eden.”

This is something I’ve suspected for a while now: If you have a friend or family member who’s been going to a yoga studio more often than what is considered normal, and they suddenly cut off all contact with you and their family, chances are they joined a cult. Yoga is a gateway drug.

I don’t buy so-called “luxury” crap. Personally I think it’s ugly and looks vulgar, as well as a waste of money. What the guy in this video says is not surprising to me. I’m not impressed by what you’re wearing or sporting. I’m impressed with who you are and what you do.

To put things in a historical perspective, one Jewish slave in ancient Egypt was overheard to have stated the following to one of his peers: “I know things seem bad for us right now, but after this I think it’s going to be smooth sailing for the Jewish people from now on.”

We are not afraid of you, because even with the greatest seat of power, you are a spectacularly small man. We are not afraid of you because you are not worthy of our fear; because that would mean respecting you—and we do not. johnpavlovitz.substack.com/p/we-the-peo...

It would be great to replicate this event all over the country.

How do the social media corporations protect their special interests in Washington? First, they try to hide behind 'free speech'. But, Section 230 is not the First Amendment. Platforms shouldn't get exemptions from tort law that journalists don't get. youtu.be/BBxh2ce0tq0

Please give to Tasneem if you can. She can't maintain an account here without it being suspended or erroneously marked as spam. She is a real person, a mother, who is struggling to survive in Gaza. Please donate and share her campaign.

This is Pigeon Point State Historic Park and Lighthouse located in San Mateo County between Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz. As well as its role as a park and working lighthouse it has a hostel and is an educational center. At the waterline there’s some interesting geological features worth seeing.

This is a test image. I’m getting my Fujifilm X100VI ready for travel next week. This is my standing desk with my MacBook open. Exposure was auto and no flash. It’s dark but the details are sharp. I’m still learning. This camera is more complicated than my Nikon D90 DSLR although more compact.

It’s good that Trump blinked on the tariffs and he’ll likely blink on China when the cost of that sinks in. But we made a mistake including the penguins on the tariff suspension. The thought of those penguins laughing at us makes my blood boil.

Here’s a picture of us with “Sharky,” the mascot for San Jose. I’m on the left and Erik is on the right. It was fun going to Sharks games when there was a possibility of them winning. When you know that’s not only unlikely but unrealistic it’s not fun. Right now all our teams suck.

When we retake the Congress one of the first bills should be Supreme Court reform, which should include the following: 1. Ethics and Term Limits. 2. The overturning of certain decisions starting with Citizens United, Dobbs, and others. 3. Anything else we can think of to restore integrity.

Elon Musk was quoted as saying: “I don’t judge a man by the color of his skin. I judge him by how well you can see him in the dark when he smiles.”

It’s no secret that I love Porcupine Tree and Steven Wilson so not a surprise I’d love this album. But I’m hardly alone. PT and SW are regarded as one of the best progressive rock bands and solo artists (respectively) of the last 20 years if not the last 60. Wilson is a brilliant audio engineer.

This is me about 35 years ago, at Natural Bridges Caverns, a touristy cavern between Austin and San Antonio. I explored a lot of caves when I lived in Austin. The Texas Hill Country is a great place for natural wonders, including a spring that forms a river where you can drink right from the rock.

My friend & I were in Seattle in 2019. Awesome city. We visited the aquarium and I shot this photo with my Nikon DSLR. Seattle was a lot of fun, really cool people and places. The Chihuly Garden & Glass Museum was amazing, as were the MoPop, the Needle, and Pike’s Place Market. It was a great week.

These are baby Sea Turtles about to be released into the Pacific Ocean by a local rescue in Sayulita. We go there often and this is one of the things that makes the town special. They collect the eggs before the predators come, hatch them, then release them every evening during the season. (Cont.)
