If you post or repost gAI imagery, I will unfollow you. It is anti-human anti-environment and pro-oligarchy. We need to do far better.

Today, which I realized last night is Friday and not Thursday, will be spent editing. And that’s literally all. Well… breathing, lunch, water, the occasional bathroom break… but otherwise, editing. Actually, a swell way to spend a day.

Happy birthday to Richard Matheson, February 20, 1926. I keep calling people “one of the all time greats” in these posts, and here’s another one!

Tax prep took up most of the morning and I’m not even ready to send stuff off to the accountant, who as far as I’m concerned is some kind of sorceress.

Actually found some reasons for hope and actionable advice after failing to talk myself out of opening Bluesky at 2:45 am. Sometimes… shit just goes my way.

Food for thought.

Read this thread! @michaelastackpole.bsky.social makes a solid case, and not only is this an effective way to help derail the intentional destruction of the government but is of use even in good times. I have a lot of thinking to do on this for myself, and promise to do the necessary work.

THE MOTHER OF ALL INFO DUMPS We talk about show, don’t tell and info dumps over and over and over again, and there are examples of what to do and what not to do out there all over the place, but maybe this will help close the door on info dumps for you forever. This is the better part of the…

Fascinating and entirely true. Read this instead of an AI Overview of anything:

Heads up for my anti-AI comrades: Looks like you have to turn Apple Intelligence off every time there’s any software update.

Oh, and just noticed I passed the 2000 followers mark… thanks for pushing me over the top, obvious girl bots! The cleavage shots you farmed off lingerie store sites are all looking lovely.

So far so good. Why did I feel compelled to post that? It’s as if I felt like I needed to do some kind of welfare check on myself. I’m fine.

Okay, Monday, let's see what you got.

The mad genius Alejandro Jodorowsky was placed on this planet by unknown forces on February 17, 1929. Happy birthday.

Oof… the Sunday evening sourceless feeling of impending doom is strong today.

Happy birthday to Iain Banks, who, with or without his middle initial, wrote some of my favorite books of all time. February 16, 1954.

Just switched my search engine default from Google to DuckDuckGo and I like it so far. The lack of intrusive AI Overview sold me on it right away.

Don’t be afraid to do this kind of thing in your own writing, but be careful. If a little voice inside is saying “no” then don’t. Jenny Offill, by the way, nailed it at exactly the right moment in exactly the right story coming from exactly the right POV character.

The quality of the reporting on this has been disappointing, to say the least, with only the most basic understanding of what the National Archives does. This is bigger than a little spat with a small agency. bit.ly/3Ex744a follow @everylibrary.bsky.social to stay informed!

Seriously, creative folks: Don't be afraid to let people know your stuff is out there for them, or worry that "now is not the time for that." People are stressed and freaked out and looking for the things that will give them a moment of rest and joy. It is EXACTLY the time for what we do. Tell them.

This might be difficult to stop. Can active duty service members sue their own government? Can their spouses? Can civilian teachers? Hell… can I? Pentagon schools suspend library books for ‘compliance review’ under Trump orders www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

Of course, no to anything resembling ethnic cleansing anywhere.

Why we love it here, and how it could be everywhere.

Saw someone say, "End your friendships with people who are going about life like nothing is wrong." I will never understand people who think that further isolating ourselves from everyday people who don't get it is going to save us. It's not. Your judgment and disdain will not save us.
