"I was walking in a 20 zone and all the bikes were doing 25mph!" 1. The speed limit does not apply to cyclists. 2. It is very unlikely that all the bikes were doing 25mph on the flat unless they were all professional racing cyclists. 3. You were out for a walk with your speed gun, were you?

It is 39°C in Lisbon today. The same in Madrid. In Paris next week it will also be 39°C. Look at this picture. People are under trees, where it can be up to 12°C cooler. Given trees take decades to mature and many don’t survive, cities need to plant many more street trees. And urgently.

Hoxton Street is so much more of a street for people on market day. But why do we tolerate the car-dominated environment of speeding rat-runners 6 days a week? Just pedestrianise it!

Kid just took this photo at a nearby building site. We’re feeling that “site team, please don’t be so incompetent you kill each other, ha ha ha” is a worrying either asa “funny” sign or as a bar to be setting for safety notices on a construction site?

DRIVERS: AVOID YELLOW BOX FINES WITH THIS ONE WEIRD TRICK www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

It's finally happened: a man in the @pcyc.bsky.social FB group wants to physically fight me. And the reason? Cos I dared post this video, and that made him angry. He's not alone in his anger, either. FFS! Plymouth Cycling Campaign is a bloody disgrace! www.youtube.com/watch?v=NbKl...

Definitely one for @williamnb.bsky.social… 1. Massive wankpanzer ✅ 2. Plymouth ✅ 3. Article blaming inanimate object rather than driver ✅ 4. Transporting a Terry’s chocolate orange… probably

scrutiny.

Following a coroner's ruling of unlawful killing, Debbie Clack is urging lifetime driving bans for motorists involved in fatal crashes while under the influence. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 www.bbc.com/news/article...

It's about time these stories weren't accompanied by an image of someone frolicking in the water or eating an ice cream. It's not going to stop getting hotter, we really ought to fucking grow up and treat this seriously🤦🏻‍♂️

We've been conditioned to think forests should be neat and tidy, but that's parkland: a domesticated version. REAL forest ecosystems are wild, tangled, and unruly.

Please will you teach your drivers how they should pass cyclists without scaring the sh1t out of them, or worse. @evorange.bsky.social

I voted to scrap the two-child benefit cap — and had the Labour whip removed. I voted against cuts to winter fuel payments. And I’ll vote against any attack on disability benefits. Austerity 2.0 is a political choice — and I will always oppose it.

I find an early ride, irrespective of how you feel, is often the best one. It doesn’t matter how long you are out, the fresh air and wildlife is good for your body and soul.

Some drivers really are spoilt miserable little twats aren't they? Put a bit of joy into some kids lives and get reported cos some manchild had to wait an extra half a second. Twats. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Stopped on the school run this morning to take this. Me and my son cross a few metres away from this spot.

Totally this👇 and the blurring is happening everywhere, sometimes in the places/accounts you least expect it and should know better.

Worth remembering that, at the same time Labour are saying their benefit cuts need to be pushed through, there is always enough money to support more driving

A child is killed everyday on our roads, how is that acceptable? I agree bonnet heights are massive issue. But, the larger issue is the shear failure to keep people safe from road harm in all situations

Bristol’s Cotham Hill, a deserted ghost town wasteland since traffic filters and replacing car parking with bike stands a few years ago. Only joking, it’s full of people and has a ton of brilliant independent shops and great restaurants. Cos people shop, not cars.

One day we'll have to explain to our children why people formed human barricades to protect car parking spaces rather than to protect them. Lambeth Council forced to scrap LTN plans after residents form 'human barricade' across street - MyLondon share.google/apfqyqenFG5T...

Let's start with fuel duty then. Scrap the "temporary" 5p cut and then invoke an escalator so it rises every year in line with inflation and train fares. Richer people drive a lot more so it's really a stealth wealth tax which would raise billions. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

This plane crash is utterly horrendous but in the UK alone nearly 6x this number of people are killed on the roads every year. If a Boeing 787 was going down over the UK every 2 months we’d never accept it. Why do we accept it on the roads?

Your infrequent reminder that things like 20mph limits and filtered streets are actually popular. Ignore the very noisy few.

Labour: Tough on cycling, tough on the causes of cycling.

“Don’t worry, it’s ok to park here, I’ll only be here a minute”. Then park in the road. No, seriously, if it’s not a problem to park on the bike lane then why not just park on the road? Because you know it’s not ok. Protect bike lanes

‘Greta Thunberg deported, Israel says, after Gaza aid boat intercepted’ How could she be ‘deported’ when she was kidnapped and renditioned there in the first place? 🤷‍♂️ Semantic, but important. Repatriated would be more accurate but doesn’t suit the narrative. www.bbc.com/news/article...

YouGov questions again only offering a binary choice, when there’s a better option readily available to implement.

Psst…the only way to stop climate change is to stop burning fossil fuels. Pass it on.

Horrendous. A man lying on the ground is repeatedly beaten by LA riot police, before one deliberately tramples him with horse. These officers should face charges. (🎥 Bricktop via X)

New research provides conclusive proof that 20mph in London is saving lives. 14 yrs of analysis at 150+ sites - reviewed by experts - shows: ❤️40% fewer deaths (vs 7% drop on roads where no changes were made) ❤️75% fewer children killed & 50% fewer kids hurt And slower speeds deliver so much more:

😢 more young and vulnerable asked to make the sacrifice for drivers. Nothing else to say. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Child casualties almost halved, child deaths down by 3/4… All the other stats don’t really matter

Absolute goons. Every last one of them.. They could not run a bath.

Here's a US pellet mill that produces biomass, which is then sent to UK power stations. Isn't it incredible that cutting down forests, turning them into pellets, shipping them thousands of miles, and setting them on fire, is completely carbon neutral?! #CutCarbonNotForests

Meanwhile we all but ignore antisocial & dangerous behaviours, that give drivers a bad name: ❌ handheld phone use ❌ speeding ❌ loose dogs ❌ phone in driver’s field of vision ❌ tinted front windows and only yesterday, spotted: ❌ brushing teeth while driving!!!

Since becoming an MP, Nigel Farage has managed to fit in nine trips to the US, has held down twelve jobs, which earned him nearly £1million, but has been too busy to hold any surgeries for people in Clacton who actually voted for him.

Why bother using the empty space when you can just throw it on the pavement and know there will be zero consequences? At least with a Lime Bike you can complain to the company and they’ll punish the user. These dockless drivers should also be punished for anti-social behaviour.

Nigel Farage is to give up his £73,000 EU pension! Sorry - my mistake - he just wants to stop other people having a decent pension.

Labour's attempts to blame rising small boat numbers on the weather are "pathetic" says Shadow Conservative Home Secretary Chris Philp In other news, here's Chris Philp, when he was Immigration Minister, blaming rising small boat numbers on the weather
