Happy Lesbian Visibility Day! I will always stand in solidarity with all LGBTQIA+ women and non-binary people. Looking forward to listening to queer women, celebrating their identities and learning about the challenges they face. Many queer women inspire me. Thank you! #LesbianVisibilityDay

“What do we want? Trans rights! When do we want them? Now!” This afternoon in Parliament Square, London, where people protested for trans liberation and in response to the UK Supreme Court’s ruling on Wednesday. #TransWomenAreWomen #TransMenAreMen #TransRightsAreHumanRights

A lot of people showing support for trans people and calling for trans liberation, in response to Wednesday’s UK Supreme Court ruling. We must fight for trans rights. I will always be a trans ally. #TransRightsAreHumanRights

“What do we want? Trans rights! What do we want? Trans rights! What do we want? Trans rights!” Lots of people here in Parliament Square, calling for trans rights, equality and celebrating trans lives. #TransRightsAreHumanRights

If you are in London today, consider joining the call to back trans liberation. The protest begins at 1 pm. Wednesday’s UK Supreme Court decision will cause many trans and gender diverse people to suffer. Other protests taking place across the UK this weekend. Solidarity! #TransRightsAreHumanRights

#PrEP battle in US #SupremeCourt: “the case is about whether science or politics will guide our nation’s #PublicHealth policy.” #Prevention #HIV

It’s sad that access to PrEP is being weaponised, with broader implications for healthcare. PrEP prevents HIV transmissions. It became available a few years after my diagnosis in 2010. I'm healthy and happy, but every new case is unnecessary given today’s science. www.advocate.com/news/supreme...

“New figures show the number of AIDS-related deaths could jump from six million to 10 million in the next five years unless funding is reinstated, according to forecasts from the UN AIDS agency (UNAIDS).” The Independent analyses reducing global aid. #HIV www.independent.co.uk/news/health/...

“A constitutional amendment passed on 14 April allows the government to label LGBTQ+ gatherings a threat to children and to revoke the citizenship of dual nationals deemed a risk to ‘national sovereignty.’” An interesting take on Orbán’s queer rights crackdown. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

“They were the people who started off, for example, the self-identification policies. I was in parliament when one of their leaders stood at the despatch box saying that trans women are women.” Karin Smyth's perspective is disconcerting, rewriting the past. www.thepinknews.com/2025/04/17/l...

“That’s the clear goal: to instil fear among providers of best-practice transgender medicine. That’s unfortunate – but it’s also dangerous for the needs of transgender patients who rely on qualified providers with specialisations and training to provide that care.” www.advocate.com/politics/tru...

“Trans rights campaigners have accused the head of the UK’s equalities regulator of ‘overreach’ after she said trans women could be banned from women’s toilets, sports and hospital wards.” Baroness Kishwer Falkner’s words are having a chilling effect. www.theguardian.com/society/2025...

Disappointing and frightening. British Transport Police has announced that male officers will now be searching trans women in custody. One of the first to announce a change in policy in response to yesterday’s UK Supreme Court ruling. #TransRightsAreHumanRights

I mean *what* are they actually thinking? www.bbc.co.uk/news/article... This is an utter outrage. Not under my watch... 😡

“Trans people should be accommodated according to their presentation, the way they dress and the pronouns they use.” This is from current NHS guidance, in place since Sept 2019. Sad that the EHRC wants to change the rules, potentially placing trans women in men’s wards. #TransRightsAreHumanRights

Surreal interview with the UK’s EHRC’s Baroness Kishwer Falkner, who thinks she meets “the highest standards of public service,” on BBC Radio 4’s Today. Sets out her journey in terms of gender-critical views. The EHRC has significantly eroded trans rights. #TransRightsAreHumanRights

Some of this morning’s commentary suggests an overnight cultural shift, permanent change in tone or outlook, following the UK Supreme Court ruling. This is, to an extent, gender-critical hyperbole. Need to wait and see how this impacts organisations and public bodies. I will always be a trans ally.

YES. Trans Rights Are Human Rights. Solidarity!

Inspirational perspectives from some leading trans voices! Yesterday’s UK Supreme Court ruling was shocking. It is still unclear what the real-life implications will be for public bodies, businesses and trans people. I will never stop fighting for trans rights. www.thepinknews.com/2025/04/17/t...

Trans women are women. Trans men are men. Trans rights are human rights. And I will always stand in solidarity with my trans and gender diverse friends.

“This is like a physical punch, because what it feels like for pretty much every trans and non-binary person in the UK is that you’d like to be exclude us wholesale from UK society.” Powerful interview from Jane Fae, discussing today’s UK Supreme Court ruling (BBC, World at One).

Surprised by today’s ruling from the supreme court, as it seems to contradict 20 years of case law relating to the Gender Recognition Act 2004. There should be no backsliding. I stand with my trans, non-binary, intersex and gender diverse friends. Full equality! www.theguardian.com/society/2025...
