Getting closer on my natural products piece 🖊️ Do you know what natural product that is in the middle? #chemsky #sciart

Working on a natural products piece! #chemsky #sciart

How do you focus on work when the world is burning

Has anyone used these types of "automated" reactors? Any recommendation or watchouts? #chemsky

Sad...

I hesitate to put this out there despite some encouragement; there are people who need it more than I do. If you appreciate the work I do for the SciArt community, or my artwork, or anti-AI ranting, here's a link to buy me a cup of coffee. No pressure, anyone.

Milliken is finally offering a PhD internship program! Our team is hoping to host an organic chemist (3rd year+) to work on color chemistry. If you're interested, please apply! If you know me, let me know you applied! #chemsky

This is really cool. Seeing the migration of the scientific community away from Twitter in a data oriented perspective feels validating

Has anyone ever used dialysis bags? We're doing some slightly larger scale reactions and the dialysis tubing isn't really going to cut it. It'd be awesome if there were larger bags, like half a liter or more but do they exist? #chemsky

Is there a way to view the ACS Spring '25 session topics? All I see are things that are super general like "Division of Organic Chemistry." No shit, respectfully. It's hard to justify the cost of going without knowing somewhat generally what's going to be covered lol #chemsky

I saw this on LinkedIn 😂 #chemsky

Does anyone have organic or polymer chemistry problem sets for first year graduate students? I'm trying to get start a program or tradition of developing our lab technicians in our company. Thanks! #chemsky

We have a position open in our Performance Colorants and Ingredients R&D group. This is for a bachelor's level or similarly experienced chemist. Come join a great team! www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/41...

Analytical chemist position open at our company, Milliken & Company! Masters or PhD (preferred) #chemjobs #chemsky

How do you politely tell your boss, who sits a few desks down from you, that they are YELLING whenever they’re in a virtual meeting and you can’t focus on your work? Asking for a friend

I thought I would use both Twitter and Bluesky for awhile... I pretty much just stay here unless my wife sends me a meme or funny tweet on Twitter

Accurate. #chemsky By instagram.com/nathanwpyles...

The American Chemical Society's job searching site is currently advertising a position for an associate veterinarian: chemistryjobs.acs.org/jobs/view/as... The current level of neglect of the former C&EN Jobs is at a local maxima chemsky 🧪

My favorite part of my job is mentorship. Helping young scientists into better positions where they can grow, get paid what they deserve, and be happier has been soooo rewarding. More than any scientific breakthrough

Working on a new piece but man it’s taking a lot of research #chemsky #sciart

One thing I did always take issue with was the "Day in the Life" section describing what a "successful" organic chemistry grad student does every day. Maybe it could be updated since the poll is from 2004 haha #chemsky

I've been working with a new lab tech and mentioned this site as a great tool for troubleshooting or getting simple information related to organic synthesis. I used it a lot in grad school, great resource! #chemsky

This website is the best. I've never really appreciated how great it is and how much it's helped me over the years #ChemSky #Orgchem

This is for @philknutson.bsky.social

I wanna do a natural products piece of art. What are your favorite natural products or total syntheses? I love the sesquiterpines from Maimone, pleuromutilin from Reisman, ryanodol from Inoue, axinellamines from Baran, and ET-743 from Fukuyama #ChemSky
