[1/2] Yesterday a woman who had just moved here from Asheville came into the Knoxville Museum of Art. As she approached the front desk she said with a beaming smile "Happy Valentine's Day!" without missing a beat I replied with a very sincere "I love you!"

When I lived in Florida, I had nice backyard with a pool and a grill. Every #valentinesday I hosted a BBQ for all my single guy friends. It was billed as a "Bring Your Own Steak" party. We'd hang out and avoid the whole Valentine's Day nonsense. Best of all, we could all say "I already have plans."

In 2014 I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and given 2 years to live. I got into an experimental program at UM in 2015 and today I had my 10-year scan. My heart is healthy and beating quite well. So, here's me celebrating with some sunshine in Boca Raton on this 79-degree day #stillliving
