Goodness me that was a tough watch. Sunderland create just a couple of second-half chances and have two new injury worries to add to the equation. They looked exhausted and completely short of inspiration in that second half. That's probably that for the top two.

Well that was a shocker of a half.... Sunderland started very brightly but have completely lost their way after Patterson was unable to stop a corner going in. Poor goal to concede and hosts have been poor since. Hull's timewasting not subtle but tbf, they've been better on the ball too.

Le Bris names an unchanged XI and bench here at the SoL. Had wondered if he might be tempted to go with Mundle from the start, but an excellent option off the bench after so long out. Otherwise very much as expected.

Thought second half was a different game entirely - for all Leeds didn't create much they were dominant. Sunderland just couldn't keep the ball and that always seemed likely to cost them. Leeds finally making the most of their set plays made the difference.

Impressive first 45 from Sunderland. Leeds have looked dangerous, as we knew they would. But Patto yet really to be worked. Sunderland have shown same desire to defend as we saw here last season - but Jobe/Le Fee/Isidor give them a different dimension on break. Had two best chances - superb goal

RLB names an unchanged team as expected. The main takeaway really is arguably the strongest bench Sunlun have had in a long time. Moore, Hjelde, Browne, Samed, Poveda, Aleksic, Mayenda, Mundle, Mepham. With Watson to return in next week - head coach really has options.

Just what the doctor ordered - a routine home win. That probably said as much about Luton as it did Sunderland - visitors were unfathomably poor. But Sunderland solid and a very good call to bring Ballard in. Stopped Luton getting any platform with their long balls.

An excellent strike from Enzo Le Fée is the difference at half time. Sunderland have been pretty good and controlled the game against a very poor Luton side and yet.... they haven't put them away and so the visitors are still firmly in it.
