Fuck. Right. Off.

You think it’s an accident Tesla sales are down almost 80% in Germany? They know what his salute meant.

W is the luckiest President ever: if not for Trump, he would have been front-runner by a mile for the worst.

1./ In my research for 'The Burning Blue' I created this map, assembled from Fighter Command records in the National Archive, showing the HF R/T coverage for each of the 11 Group sector stations. This shows for each sector how far that sector's squadrons could be commanded.

“Senator Schumer, I predict that your book tour is going to be a shitshow of epic proportions.”

Anybody need an RAF Test Set 6B (ex Lightning?). Last serviced at Binbrook in 1988. Free to a good home!

Dutton’s argument: I’d be better at sucking up to Trump than Albo is. 🤮

For what proved to be a too brief period, the RAAF Museum operated a Royal Aircraft Factory R.E.8 exact replica, built in New Zealand by The Vintage Aviator Ltd. Paul Lawrence took some footage, now compiled by Keith Webb. Pilot intro Chris Tulk, commentary by me and Ken Moss. vimeo.com/1064226702

A Nazi sympathizer with suspect ties to Russia bought himself a President. And for some reason, that President decided to reverse 60 years of security to capitulate to Russia. Does that describe it?

I wrote this in 2019, about two remarkable female aviators. Since then, Russia has fallen even further into disgrace, while America has recently spun out into autocratic insanity. These remarkable women deserve better from their countries. 1/2 yearofaviationillustration.home.blog/2019/03/08/h...

"Man from Moscow - Putin and Trump, the alliance of predators." Trump on the cover of the French magazine Le Point with this headline.

Delighted to welcome @edwardsoye.bsky.social Soye to the @avculturesconf.bsky.social team as my co-organiser for AvCultures Canada in mid 2026. He has fantastic hands-on & academic aviation experience! We've complimentary outlooks, both having global aviation passions centred on Canada & Australia.

Glad to see that my MP gets it

Tomorrow we'll introduce a vital new team member of AvCultures, with a key role to play (Ooo, teasing...) in the meantime, Here's a quote from AvCultures founding member (and still advising and supporting!) Dr Prudence Black (she's top left in this screenshot) here: (1/3, -JDK)

And a BIG THANK YOU to the follow backs, the new follows (G'Day!) and those who are engaging with AvCultures here. We love it. Can we request a favour though? If you like what you see, PLEASE share, engage with our chat, and amplify. We do only because we think it's worth it, no other reward! -JDK

My aviation historian senses are tingling here. Has there been as global an aircraft before? Many aircraft have been licence-built, part built or have repair systems in *some* other countries, but I v can’t think of a precursor built on so many continents. Can you? H/T @aileron001.bsky.social

Former Conservative MP and British Attorney General Dominic Grieve:

The first time as farce, the second time as tragedy

Gee I wonder why there’s a shortage of air traffic controllers

While I'm fully involved (it me, in the pic!) it's still exciting to see how exciting the programme is for AvCultures. On our tenth anniversary, what an achievement, thanks to our great team and supporters. Help us continue to share and explore fascinating aviation byways...

Ooo. So much of heritage, so much of aviation, and history (in literally one key definition) IS paperwork. So what paperwork debacle stories can YOU share? -JDK

Wow, just done a bit of a catch up on our follows and follow backs. (Waves!) If you're already following us, 'thank you'! If you're curious about what we do: we talk about aviation's various cultures, mostly at online and in-person conferences. And we'd like your input! -JDK @jdkightly.bsky.social

TODAY is the tenth anniversary of Aviation Cultures first event - a small, but high quality gathering and discussion. We're delighted Aviation Cultures is STILL going, and as strong as ever! Tomorrow we'll have a special announcement regarding forthcoming events... Stay Tuned!

Weaker but way more expensive than iron. It's perfect.
