100% this and you know what, you want to mitigate that feel bad moment of the reroll being worse? Be more generous with them. Hell do pity points where you refund the Hero Point if it comes out worse. The system assumes they are in play so when they aren't it become more difficult then it should be.

Might be in a bit of a mood for a few days. I lost my younger brother suddenly 3 years ago. His birthday would've been next week. I'm not sad about it all the time anymore, but I think of him often. It's hard not to. A lot of the games I love were things he introduced me to or we played together.
