A single 400-year-old ancient oak produces 234,000 litres of oxygen a year while soaking up carbon dioxide, and can support more than 2,000 species of bird, insect, fungus, and lichen. Nature is amazing - we need more of it, not less. Please repost if you agree 🌳

Trying some homemade #Nettle and mint tea after learning 🌿 how full of good vitamins and minerals Nettles are… hoping their natural anti inflammatory properties might help my #LongCOVID too. Was prepared to not like the taste much and persevere, but actually quite enjoyed it 😃

Inspired by Eoghan Daltun's @irishrainforest.bsky.social remarks on deadwood as important habitat for many species, I paid particular attention on my last walk in the forest and came across this little fellow. I love how everything in nature bis connected, how everything remains part of the whole.

Today's little random bit of nature... Feel like these worms maybe left us a message if we could just decipher it 🪱

Last year saw them arrive and pair off, build their nests, sit on the eggs, hatch chicks, grow, the fierceness of the parents fending off magpies and the community that came together to look after them as they got bigger in a gaggle if young ones…. Such a beautiful journey to witness.

Its always nerve wracking starting something new isn’t it, but it is spring, so feels like the perfect time to gently start to grow new shoots. I would love to hear your thoughts on what I am trying to grow.

What is your favourite quote right now? This might be mine... “Even a wounded world holds us, giving us moments of wonder and joy. I choose joy over despair. Not because I have my head in the sand, but because joy is what the earth gives me daily and I must return the gift.” Robin Wall Kimmerer
