I know we generally say bad things about the other place, but there are still pockets of goodness alive and kicking there. Friends of @pierkisser.bsky.social have been raising cash for surgery for her lovely rescue dog Victor. Within 24 hours we reached the target! t.co/oulrU59kL9 Kindness rocks.

Victor update. Unfortunately the plate in his leg has to come out - it's irritating a tendon or (less likely) is infected. The 'good' news is it won't be for a couple of months to make sure he's 100% well - this also means we can save up to have it done. 1/2

Victor update! Blood tests are ok! Although he's not quite 100% he still has 2 weeks of antibiotics to complete. The plates in his leg from his cruciate op are also good, and there's a mystery why it's still causing him irritation. We will wait to see what the Bordeaux vet says.

Victor update - I'm an eejit, the next appointment at the vet is Wednesday not today 🙄 but they're happy with his water intake over the weekend and will chat about his food intake on Wednesday. He's back to normal walkies, I was trying to keep up today...🤣 #SpotTheDog

And...Victor update. Having a run while we were out is great progress. Refusing to eat normal dog food not so great, but snaffled a packet of Spanish bacon off the counter in the evening. Unfortunately also plagued by separation anxiety today so he's had cuddles and reassurance.

Victor has had injection number 2 + there's definitely improvement- waggy tails and a ravenous appetite. Back to the vet on Monday for a blood test. However there's an issue with the TPLO surgery he had in May, something is irritating him. He'll have an x-ray on Monday too...🙄

Victor update. He had his 1st injection today, which also comes with nasty side effects. He may not need a 2nd one depending on how well it works, it's back to the vet tomorrow for checks. From reading, considering how ill he was, we were lucky not to lose him. 1/2
