I love it when models post pictures without credits... Not only once, but several times. Yeah.

Hey #believeinfilm friends, It's time for the 71st monthly newsletter from the depth of film photography lore: www.analog.cafe/r/film-photo... Today, I'm talking about the new Harman film, LOWER FILM PRICES EVERYWHERE, my new app, and ONDU no longer being a Pinhole company. 📸🎞️

I could write 3 pages for the easiest chapter of the dissertation. 3 out of 10 that I was asked for. Well, not gonna complain, at least I wrote something.

As an introduction one of my research interests is 20th century women photographers in Scotland. In 2024 as part of Glasgow International with Craigmillar Now, I curated an exhibition of Sandra George’s (1957-2013) work. Sandra was a Black photographer, artist and community worker in Edinburgh.

when there’s a job listing called like “writer/graphic designer/photographer” it’s like hey little buddy that’s three jobs. do you know about numbers friend? or is that also going to be my job

Gracias, karma

It's been a crazy half month. I'm going to move temporarily to another city, I appeared on local TV thanks to my work/interest about South Korea, I had a meeting with the Korea Foundation as one of the last fellowships they had, I got back to Korean lessons and more...

Next week I have to send my tutor one -easy/easier- chapter of my dissertation, because it's about the context, but I've had so many... let's call them distractions that I'm not sure if I'll be able to do it. I have 5 pages of notes tho. Will I make it? Stay tuned 😅

A Spanish meme for Valentine's Day The translation is "Sam goes slowly", but in Spanish, it can sound like San Valentin (Saint Valentine) so... on this day, every year, we need to post this silly and adorable meme 😊 Even Sean Astin knows the meme now haha (Sam is saying "Wait for me, Mr. Frodo")

The scene at a B-29 exhibition staged in Hibiya Park on Feb 20, 1945, amidst the quickening tempo of air raids The outdoor exhibition combined salvaged parts (like tail sections) from downed Superforts with a full-scale models, using their own fighter planes for scale

1/ I've obtained the 101-page indictment against President Yoon Suk Yeol detailing the December 3, 2024 martial law incident. He's charged with leading an insurrection (내란우두머리). Here's a breakdown of the allegations:

There's this guy who bought a photographer's archive and that photographer has some photos that are very interesting for my research He said he couldn't give me his name because he's going to digitalize and sell them, so he needs the 'exclusivity' feeling for buyers I'm a little bit upset tbh

This year I decided to be brave and I sent 4 different proposals to conferences or journals. Two were in Spanish -easier and better for me-, and two were in English. I just got the answer for 1 of them and I was rejected. I don't feel bad, just weird, dunno why.

Not gonna lie, I feel exhausted and stuck.

Ok, I’m gonna veer well past “classic” and into “historic”, but there are so many cool photography company logos that would be peak photo nerd on a t-shirt. Most of these are c. 1880s-1890s. A short thread. #BelieveInFilm

BREAKING: South Korea's prosecutors have indicted President Yoon for leading an insurrection

Begging all (ALL) academics to create personal webpages with your email address, affiliation, and publications listed clearly. And put that link in your Bluesky profile!

It used to only be elderly people. Now a lot of young people are out protesting too. At current protest outside the Constitutional Court, it seems like around half are in their 20s and 30s. Both men and women.

if you want artists to make weirder art, you have to create stable living conditions that allow them to. homogeneity isn't a matter of artists lacking culture-- there are many soulful artists out there-- it's a matter of unregulated corporate dominance combined with artists who cant afford to create

I just need someone to notice my talent so they can hire me and I can dedicate myself to writing and researching all my life. But until that happens, I guess it's time to review my CV. I've already been rejected for some jobs 😅

For the last 2 days, thanks to Universidad de Villanueva, and the coordination and organization of Doris Treviño and Paloma Díaz Soloaga (and the rest of the team) I attended the I International Fashion Photography Congress.

My talk to the Royal Photographic Society's historians is now available to view on Youtube (with the huge fubar in the middle edited gently into oblivion) www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZaRp...

I was outside President Yoon Suk Yeol's residence from 4:30am this morning as he was finally arrested. Here's my report for the Guardian on how the dramatic scenes unfolded: www.theguardian.com/world/2025/j...

Yoon has been arrested on charges of leading an insurrection. However, an interesting legal debate surrounds his charges. In Korea, insurrection and military rebellion are distinct crimes, with differing penalties under the law.

Investigators are attempting to access the presidential residence to arrest impeached Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol. Police also have arrest warrants for the head of the security service and the head of Yoon's bodyguards. Click here for live updates:

The police are removing anti-impeachment protesters, who were physically guarding the presidential residence, one by one and relocating them. It seems to be an operation to clear a path for access to the residence.

Developing: multiple Korean media are reporting police and investigator movements this morning, presumed to be related to the imminent arrest attempt of President Yoon Suk Yeol.

I've been absent because I was stressed due to my dissertation and trying to prepare some proposals. But, thanks to my tutor, I feel a little bit better. She's very supportive of the way I'm handling the dissertation. I'm too much of a perfectionist, and I overthink everything, but she reassured me
