It is jarring for those of us who came of age in the era of 9/11 and the Iraq War and were subjected to daily fearmongering from our government about terrorists “wanting to destroy our way of life” watching as the same government upends for sport the lives of thousands of its finest people

Ding ding ding. The uppercase/lowercase divide also means that lot of people aren’t aware that there are very much evangelical movements within denominations like Catholicism that are often presented as inherently disassociated from the concept.
