My prediction is that Mobile and PC gaming will do very well in the next 5 or so years and we'll end up with a similar demographic to Japan.

I've gotta say it's probably the most fun I've had messing around with someone elses engine in a long time. Everything is just so simple and works. It's very easy to quickly build something without having to fight an Engine UI.

Like I said before I've gained so much doing so, but I also regret making less games these past years. So this year instead of my planned project of making a game engine with Rust (want to learn more Rust), I decided to try out Haxe/Heaps.

When I initially got hired into the industry I thought I'd have less stress on my personal projects succeeding and would end up creating more games/doing more game jams. But no, I just ended up trying to tackle lower and lower end projects that were all about learning.

The amount of platformers that have a "jump with A" style prompt AND a pit you have to jump out of to continue the intro section of the game is crazy to me.

Yeah, the roguelike elements have me heavily skeptical that I'll enjoy the game. I've gotten to a point where I won't buy roguelike 2d platformers anymore. For roguelike experiences I'll stick to things like Balatro and Loop Hero.

Every time I play a AAA game made with Unreal and get the suspicion that they're using the default character controller I just try to break the physics on it in the same way I can in the editor and then get sad when it works. I also loathe the default post processing, I'd rather have none.

You know I was trying to think of someone but every person I was thinking of I was like... could be bi. But nah you got it perfect.

I like it, I don't think its too jarring. If the loading takes longer does it stay on the gray background?

Mega Man X as a series has always felt very inspired by Gundm and now in my headcanon I believe Capcom was trying to do that type of moment and instead accidentally created the most iconic meme scene in the entire series.

I'm 100% immune to the smell at this point. I'm scared to know how much I've huffed.

I've spilled it before once so I always do it over something I don't care if I have to clean up but never happened again.

Yup, sadly people keep memeing about "Speak with Wuk Lamat." being overused as a quest objective like I haven't spent a decade returning to Alisaie's less cool twin.

And most of those that were never beat the game.

Same issue trying to browse any game discussion forum like steam right now. Front page of posts is always flooded with "Is this game Woke?" or "This game is woke! Avoid!" Steam is one of the worst offenders because people are farming reactions for points.

You can tell it to not recommend the channel anymore BUT it doesn't work on the video page, you have to do it from your feed.

Cold Steel 3 and 4 aren't my favorite but Reverie made me retroactively really like a lot of what happened in the story. Also I wouldn't ever skip anything in this series because each title builds upon the last in some way or another and it is all tied to an overarching story.

Wish I could find a modern retro game that says it’s hexen inspired but isn’t actually just hereitic inspired instead.

Be warned though it is one hell of a learning curve. Be patient and forgiving with yourself. You're going to be starting a game some people have been playing for 15 years. Focus on improving your own play every game and eventually you'll be doing just fine.
