Victory for the fash seems to consist entirely in torturing people, killing and/or letting them die, and erasing any positive impact or reputation the US has globally.

Imagine that the boy who cries wolf is eaten the first time he cries wolf because a bunch of other boys convinced the town that he was lying. Now imagine one of THOSE boys has a turn watching the sheep and, as he’s about to become the wolf’s nth victim, he blames the first victim. That’s Tom here.

They claim they can snatch people up, put them on planes, and deport them to a country run by an authoritarian, where those people will be forced to work slave labor at an inhumane prison. All without due process, and in defiance of federal courts. The hypotheticals are over. This is the nightmare.

I get the urge to make this point, and I'm not trying to be a dick. BUT, this isn't IRONY, it's just exactly what he said should be the case and always indicated he would do. It's not IRONIC that these people consider themselves above the law and have contempt for those they use the law to torture.

hey where are all of those morons who crow on about shit like “chesterton’s fence” right now???

In its indictment of @VOANews the White House says: "In March 2019, Voice of America ran a segment about transgender migrants seeking asylum in the United States." Which in a different era was called journalism.

hilarious that the media clearly understands that we're facing an authoritarian movement, but they won't say that. they're just going to keep making comparisons like this. oh our moment is like when the king ignored his own undemocratic legislature? seems like we're doing great

"impatience with bipartisanship" lmao the @nytimes.com is such an appalling, cowardly rag. dishonest and incorrect framing everywhere

Some people look inside themselves to figure out what they believe. Others look around. This dynamic always affects our political environment, and it’s clear from this graph that this doesn’t apply only to Rs, even if they’re clearly the worst offenders

it’s so over

I continue to feel separated in every meaningful way from people who think this is okay. I’m not sure being their neighbor or their fellow citizen is an achievable or desirable goal.

If organs of state security and demagogues and mob leaders are acting in concert to crack down on dissent it is unequivocally fascist. I don’t mean this to be a polemic: it's the only appropriate term from political science and theory for this practice. www.unpopularfront.news/p/the-abduct...

People who knowingly deride liberalism don’t need to append a thorough critique explaining why they’re doing so each time, just to save the feelings of social media randos who will just go on smearing socialists as immature and brainless members of the “anti-bedtime caucus” bc they don’t give a shit

well this made me cry over breakfast. to any democrats holding even a shred of power right now: look at what’s possible from people far more endangered and vulnerable than you and grow a spine, you fucking cowards www.erininthemorning.com/p/powerful-s...
