While Critical Role brought a huge audience to Dungeons and Dragons, I'll always be bummed they also made it performative. I hear folks afraid to try, worried they wouldn't be "good at it." Proper D&D is karaoke in a room with friends. No one cares if you sing well, so long as you are having fun.
