I don't think the Dems can stop the firings. But why aren't they proposing legislation that assures those that took the buyout get paid , and that all that are fired, get at least a year severance and health benefits? And any one with a health condition is covered the entire time they are sick?

Great factoid in Simon Ball's Alamein. The famous archaeologist of Mesopotamia, Sir Leonard Woolley (seen at right, with T.E. Lawrence), headed the WWII office for writing public histories of British victories. Before Monty's 1942 victory at El Alamein, the office had produced all of one pamphlet.

Jules’ Undersea Lodge is an underwater habitat sited five feet off the bottom of a protected lagoon in Key Largo (the bubbles you see in the distance). I spent 24 hours in the habitat in 1992.
