I’m seriously considering filing a new W4 with a huge estimated deduction so the current administration doesn’t get my money until April ‘26. I’ll owe an underwitholding penalty, but I’m ok with that.

I just discovered today that “probationary employees” in the federal govt includes anyone who was promoted in the last year or two. I’ve seen reports of someone with 20 years but a recent promotion being fired.
