Last night, the temperature outside dropped to 2 °F (-16.7 °C), causing all the hot water pipes on the top floor of our house to freeze while the cold water pipes didn't freeze. This is called the Mpemba effect. Can someone explain why this happens? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mpemba_...
