@failuretolaunch.bsky.social listening to Jack Parsons pt 2 and you've made me discover that Theodore von Karman is my spirit animal. I likewise have a semi-mythical reputation at every place I've worked for breaking everything l even stand next to, and people now pay me to do it for a living

Good job America, not only has he been giving himself the powers of one, but it's not even a month in and he's already calling himself King. You gave away your wealth, power and freedom for nothing, and you're not getting it back. Did you think everyone was lying about how dangerous it was?

This is an important point I think. Opposition to Musk isn't based on philosophical or political views. It's between people who know when they're being conned and people who don't. Whether we still have a functioning country after this depends on how many of us fall for the wallet inspector gag

@radiofreetom.bsky.social the US didn't become the guarantor of peace in Europe just to oppose the Soviets. A forgotten but very important reason was to stop the French, British, Germans, etc. from wanting to murder each other every few years and dragging large chunks of the world into it every time

It's incredible to watch Trump/Musk rapidly dismantling the actual vast hard and soft power capacity of the US, which every other country is intimidated by, in exchange for the appearance of power which will only impress the ignorant. "Walk loudly and sell the big stick to the highest bidder"

@hanrahan.tv in case you're not aware - jesus fucking christ, I literally just finished your latest Popular Front about 764, etc. and now one of Elon's doge guys - "Big Balls" - turns out to be involved.

next time around I don’t think we should let a bunch of illiterate white power guys who are friends with jeffrey epstein get the password for the money computer.

As soon as Musk gets control of whatever system is used to pay military service members, it's over - especially for Trump. He's going to make them decide between their principles (whether democracy and the law or Trump) and starvation - a lot are living paycheck to paycheck to begin with

Just realized we are now living in the timeline from Community where Chang stages a fascist takeover of campus with a brute squad of junior high boys.

Americans are losing their country RIGHT NOW - not in some slow moving erosion of rights like normal, but I mean Musk's people are getting control of every system they can and doing who knows what with it - you don't have months or years to stop this, you have days, maybe hours

All the evil and incredibly dumb stuff Trump and his other cronies are doing is exactly what they said they would do but most people thought was just trolling. The Musk coup is surprising though - I don't know anyone who thought he would get more than preferential treatment

thought it would be funny to watch some Roadrunner cartoons on acid but ten seconds in we're all silent out front of the tv, awed by the desolate beauty of these desert landscapes and struck by the emptiness of the world. should these two lone living souls not seek solace in one another
