Janet Fitch: "The writer is both a sadist and a masochist. We create people we love, then we torture them. The more we love them, and the more cleverly we torture them along the lines of their greatest vulnerability and fear, the better the story." #writing Perhaps my favorite writer quote.

Three-peat prevented. #SuperBowl #FlyEaglesFly, from a Panthers fan. Congratulations!

If you play on PlayStation you are a gamer. If you play on Xbox you are a gamer. If you play on Nintendo you are a gamer. If you play on mobile you- If you play on PC you are a gamer. Gaming is Gaming 🥰

17 years ago today, Eli Manning and the Giants took down the Patriots in Super Bowl XLII. 18 wins and 1 Giant loss.

Happy new month, Bluesky. There might be less time to get things done in the shortest month of the year, but I think that results in the content I do release in February being even more special.

I find the first three Mario Kart games interesting largely because of their jank. I was able to win gold trophies in all the cups on Mario Kart 64. That was really unlike anything I'd ever done before, despite my long history with other MK games.

The modern NFL, portrayed by ponies. #mylittlepony

I didn't realize until seeing this post that the Chiefs are indeed the only AFC team to win the Super Bowl since they won their first modern one in 2020. Since then, the only other SB winners have been the Buccaneers and Rams, who are both in the NFC.

And the Chiefs barely won yet again. Painful... Alright, I'm going to be an Eagles fan from now until February 9.

Buffalo Bills, will you make the NFL fandom proud today? You may not be my primary team, but I'm sure many of us would love to see the Chiefs vanquished and for a consistent Super Bowl contender to finally, you know, actually get there. #BillsvsChiefs #AFCChampionship

I hope Nintendo does something cool for the 40th anniversary of Mario this year. For me, the 35th anniversary didn't disappoint, and with the Switch 2 apparently releasing in 2025, there's an opportunity for the console to start off with a Mario bang.

When you’re on different consoles and the game doesn’t have crossplay

Hi Bluesky, I’m bad with changes and struggled to get into this platform but I’m back- hopefully for good! I hope everyone is okay. There is so much sadness and suffering in the world right now- I hope wherever you are that you are warm, fed, clothed and have love around you.

Fellow Americans, let's start from the beginning. There's a lot we don't know about the next four years. There's also a lot we can do. Much of the president's agenda will need legislative approval, and you can contact your representatives. You can join activist organizations.

It’s kinda sad seeing everyone say their goodbyes to their audience on TikTok :C I remember how that was for me on Twit back when and it sucks. It’s sad and as a creator, it’s also scary. I hope people can find a new online home.

I feel this with the trap beat. That hi-hat was around us at every twist and turn, then suddenly the music world was just like "Alright, we're done with this." I've hardly heard it at all since 2022 or so, but 2019? Holy cow.

Lemme be the first to say, that while Martin Luther King Jr Day is on Monday......the same day as the inauguration, TODAY is MLK Jr's actual birthday. He would be "only" 96 today. For reference, Jimmy Carter just passed a couple weeks ago. He was 100. Berry Gordy & MLK were born the same year

Self-love really is a powerful medication huh... Had one bad night this year so far and I handled it well on my own! Hoping to keep working on better emotional habits (and maybe see about getting off this nasty neuro-depressant at some point!) Taking things one day at a time 💙

Given the Bills' recent record of playoff losses despite great regular seasons, I thought the Broncos might be able to pull it off. Boy was that wrong... and now they face the Ravens in the divisional round, just like in 2020-2021.

I hope Bluesky will have an edit feature someday. It's only my 11th day on the site and I already had a typing error that I couldn't fix. I replied to myself with the correction instead.

One of my missions in life is to strike a balance with this. I want to help make the world a better place, and I think providing entertainment and happiness is important to that cause, in addition to activism.

It's important to never forget. It's also sad that January 6 is a tainted calendar date. While its name will probably always be associated with the attack, today I'm looking for something else to remember the date for.

Elizabeth Cotten, folk/blues music pioneer, was born on this day in 1895. She taught herself to play the guitar and banjo as a child. She was left-handed but she played a guitar for a right-hander, meaning she played everything upside down. A little thread!

You know the coolest thing about video games? It’s that they are literally the ultimate art form. Want an interactive way to showcase your drawings? How about interactive/dynamic music? What if you wanted to tell a story that only gets deeper the more you engage with it? Video games :)

I still don't really understand chess despite multiple tries; I play it with a friend who says "Yes! You took the bait!" and I have no idea what I just did.

Monthly reminder: Many people have a book in them, but it takes a special kind of freak to leave the Land of Laziness, cross the Plains of Procrastination and Insecurity Mountain, find the Blade of No One Made You Do This, and use it to cut your chest open and yank that book out.

In my experience, it is more fun that way! Also, even for artists you already like, there can still be more info to find. I used to listen to a lot of bands without even knowing what the members' names were.

Am I part of the #twittertobluesky gang? Yes, I am. Doing this on New Year's Day. I look forward to seeing what this place has to offer, and happy 2025, everyone!
