This. Having lived in the heart of Chicago's LGBTQ+ community for nearly 30 yrs, soooo many of my neighbors + friends are folks who were literally *chased out* of their rural Midwest hometowns for simply existing. These rural towns are in no way victims of circumstance. They've run off generations.

Apparently it did get cell phone reception in 2020, using a law that was passed under President Obama, which I think brings out the real problem with this - rural America is a bunch of people who are demanding that the government subsidize their lives so they can live an unsustainable lifestyle.
