Do not let Trump gaslight you into believing he has a mandate or is all powerful. Most Americans don't support his cruel agenda. His approval ratings are in the gutter. Individuals and institutions are fighting back in courts and winning. Keep up the fight.

The lesson of history is that tyrants cannot be appeased.  Appeasement only feeds their insatiable hunger for power. Tyrants prey on people who feel unsafe and vulnerable.  But without mass submission, a tyrant is powerless.

They won’t fire Hegseth unless and until they can find someone equally suited to the project of destroying American institutions and endangering American lives.

Call out the selfish COWARDICE of every Republican Senator!! They knew exactly what a disaster Hegseth would be, yet they voted for his confirmation!

@murray.senate.gov @cantwell.senate.gov The time for the Senate's polite, country-club demeanor is gone. Demand the removal of Hegseth, and call out every Senator who voted for him!! They knew exactly what a disaster he was, yet they voted for him. Call out their COWARDICE!

This Hegseth thing is funny and all — but the unprecedented incompetence, frivolity, and treachery of the entire cabinet puts us all at very real risk.

Great advice. Don't get caught in the details of each Trump action. Focus on the principle that he and the GOP are undermining. Once the principles of our democracy are undermined, you wake up and you're living in an authoritarian state, and they will be coming for you.

We’re honestly on a fast timeline to exactly this.

Trump’s deconstruction of American security will result in Reichstag Fire. The important thing is to remember lesson 18 of On Tyranny- Be calm when the unthinkable arrives- and don’t fall for the power grab that follows. To paraphrase Franklin, those who trade freedom for safety deserve neither.

Q: "How do you respond to Governor Newsom?" Sen. Van Hollen: "I think Americans are tired of elected officials or politicians who are all finger to the wind...Anybody who can't stand up for the Constitution and the right of due process doesn't deserve to lead."

Everyone interested in preserving a constitutional democracy in the USA should read this article in order to be prepared for a future Trump generated terrorist attack.

Imagine that: a drunk Fox entertainment host can't run the largest agency in the world. It's a real shocker. www.mediaite.com/politics/the...

Friendly reminder. In the United States, criminals are entitled to due process. Even if you pay hush money rig an election, steal top secret documents, or incite a mob to overthrow the government; no matter how egregious your crimes, you’re entitled to due process.

"We can have democracy in this country, or we can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of a few, but we can't have both." —Louis Brandeis

Who could’ve foreseen that it would be a disaster to put an unqualified Fox weekend host with a drinking problem and sordid personal history in charge of the military

Ukraine did what he asked; Russia did not; and now he will blame Ukraine and cozy up to Russia. This whole peace thing is a distraction from the ongoing war that Ukraine has no choice but to fight because it is being asssulted every day.

Trump’s “one big beautiful bill” greenlights Republicans gutting Medicaid and SNAP to fund billionaires’ tax cuts.   That's an ugly bill imo.

Trump in 2023: “If I win, before I get into the office, I will have the war settled. 100% sure.” 2025: “The President has spent 87 days…taking efforts to bring this war to an end. We are now reaching a point where we need to decide and determine whether this is even possible.”

Senator Murkowski, we know the danger to your life is real. We also know this is a critical moment in the history of our constitutional democracy. This is the moment to leave the GOP, and join the Democrats. Lead by example, perhaps other GOP senators will follow, and you can save America.

A denial of due process to anyone is a denial of due process to everyone.

The United States has three branches of government: 1. The guy who does whatever he wants 2. The people too scared to stop him 3. The courts he openly ignores

Excellent insights into the status of the authoritarian takeover of our constitutional democracy.

Washington Post: "Ed Martin, now the interim U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, did not disclose his RT and Sputnik appearances from 2016 to 2024 to the Senate." Are we supposed to be shocked that Ed didn't disclose going on Russian state media? Yet another Putin stooge.

No biggie. This man is temporarily in charge of, and Trump wants to put him permanently in charge of, one of the two United States Attorney’s offices that handle the most national-security matters. www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/202...

"We can react by seeing all of this for what it is, and naming it by name: incipient state terror. We can react by associating ourselves with others who are repressed before we are. Only in solidarity do we affirm law."
