Bertie Woofster is still working on snuggle time. Less nibbling, more snuggling this evening. A cat even joined us for a minute.

Bertie Woofster meets Arrow the crow.

All Ball the orange kitty briefly remembered that he used to like his dogs, and let Bertie lick/nibble at him a bit. He even put his head inside one of Bertie’s ears, as he did to previous corgis. But eventually Bertie Woofster got a little too excited and Ball went back to smacking him.

Bertie Woofster’s first trip to U Village for coffee. It was very exciting: there were a lot of people and a lot of dogs, and we had to do a lot of yelling when they didn’t all stop to talk to us.

New toy from Costco is an immediate hit with Bertie Woofster. He has officially learned how to go out and come in the car door, so it’s a new era for him and for the cats.

We’re working on snuggle time, Bertie Woofster and me. It involves more nibbling than one of us would prefer.

Bertie Woofster, enjoying some neighborhood grass on a walk.

Bertie Woofster now has two ears up…yay!

Bertie Woofster went for his first li’l wade. Also drank a lot of salt water, with—so far—no consequences. Identified a lot of specific special rocks out of all the rocks on the beach that were worthy of further investigation.

Bertie Woofster is happy to hang out outside…as long as it’s not raining. Sulks if we’re walking in the rain. Would prefer to pee in the house rather than outside. Am I going to have to buy this double-coated herding dog a little raincoat? We live in the PNW.

Bertie Woofster’s approach to gale-force winds is to bite them. This strategy is not particularly effective.

Bertie Woofster graduated from puppy kindergarten last night. He really came a long way, from being too intimidated to participate and having to watch the other puppies play from the safety of my lap to herding all the bigger pups around like a proper corgi.

Bertie Woofster: pooped from puppy kindergarten. We have one more “class” tonight. Also, today I met a woman whose cat is named Bertie, also after Bertie Wooster.

Bertie Woofster testing out his new big boy bed. He outgrew the cat bed.

Bertie Woofster is 3 month old now. Still pretty adorable, but also a total maniac. He has recently learned about playing with dogs, which is very exciting. He says he is a snow dog, though we never got more than a dusting. My watch likes to warn me about the long-term consequences of his barking.

Bertie Woofster, staying warm. He is surrounded by an unusually small number of toys.

Bertie Woofster found some of his training treats to be mediocre, but when he found out that All Ball liked them, he was irate.

Occasionally, I take photos of something other than my dog. Here’s the Thomas Dambo troll, Ole Bolle, who dwells outside of Portland Oregon.

Bertie Woofster played with another dog for the first time ever at puppy kindergarten and wore himself out. Cheers to Juniper the golden retriever puppy who pretty much laid down to get on his level. Though Bertie may think one should play from a supine position.

Bertie Woofster meeting his new stuffed friend.

Quality time with goose friend.

Bertie Woofster now has one corgi ear and one floppy ear.

That right ear is getting closer to upright every day. Also, Bertie Woofster has decided he is a beach doggy.

Bertie Woofster’s first day at the beach. This was a good stick.

Maybe they figure they’re just going to play Phee all the minutes of all their games!

Bertie Woofster enjoying quality time with one of his cats, NoNo Buddy. Both cats are actually being very good with him, but sometimes their patience wears thin and they have to give him a good smack upside the head.

Is he getting sleepy? Please say he’s getting sleepy. (He was not sleepy.) Note to self: get next puppy in the summer, because sitting outside in the frosty mornings and freezing nights is already getting old.

Falling asleep while chewing on the doorstop. What is it with dogs and these things? Unfortunately for Bertie Woofster, I don’t have any of the sproingy ones.

This ramp is good for going up and down, but also good for chewing. Bertie Woofster is the third generation of Cardigan Welsh Corgis to use this ramp, which was built when Shrimpy was getting older and finding stairs difficult.

Crazy puppy!

Big nap!

Bertie Woofster looking goofy. But that one ear is a portent of ears to come.

Meet Bertie Woofster. This is him finding out about my fence and also that he can bark. He’s quite new.

Who is making a public archive of the CDC site in case it goes missing next year? I’ve looked up something twice in the last 2 weeks, and I’m not a power user.

Here. Have one last bear. I think this is the last type of bear I have seen in the wild. (I did see a sun bear at an orangutan rehab site in Borneo.)

Do we think they’ll try to give Tanya Woo a *third* shot at a Council seat?
