We like the quote from this post, "It's all books" - reminds us of the classic line "I just want to say one word to you. Plastics!" - guess the film! Also, "It's all ball bearings nowadays" - guess THAT film!

Hey all, we have a new episode for you to enjoy, "Mid-Term Elections & The Karate Kid"! Relive the classic film that shows you can be sneakily taught Karate, and let us explain how your vote still matters. As Frenchie says, "Rock Le Vote, Chiennes!" politicsandamovie.com

R.I.P. Val Kilmer and in honor of him, a few of our favorite performances of his: Jim Morrison in "The Doors", Doc Holiday in "Tombstone", and as Frenchie says, his "Tour de Force" in Real Genius!

I just watched an interview of @jaketapper.bsky.social by @stephencolbert.bsky.social and was surprised to see Jake sporting a set of SPATS on his footwear! Classic fashion choice you don't see every day!

We think they should be able to choose the "Running Man" option.

We just want to say our favorite Gene Hackman role was Little Bill in Unforgiven. R.I.P. Gene.

Here is the link to the fantastic Eagles speech by Jake Tapper: www.cnn.com/2025/02/14/s...

@jaketapper.bsky.social doing his Eagles victory monologue today was just FLAT OUT AWESOME!

This thing is right out of "Finding Nemo" !

Ha, so true! Also, we loved Reese Witherspoon in "Sweet Home Alabama"

FYI all, we have a new episode where we talk about American Oligarchy and the film "Wall Street", check it out at politicsandamovie.com and we hope you derive a modicum of enjoyment from it!

By the way, after Musk and DOGE mess a bunch of things up, perhaps the next administration will get @mcuban.bsky.social to create some department to fix all the broken shit (FABS)

Congrats Eagles! And FYI we loved "Silver Linings Playbook"

We find it ironic that Mel Gibson was in the film "Conspiracy Theory" and we suppose the lesson he learned was spout enough conspiracies and one could be real! We do admit we liked the film and his performance. Plus Julia Roberts! And Captain Picard being evil !

Area Man Thinks Movie He Saw Should Have Been Nominated theonion.com/area-man-thi...

We were talking to someone about Pete Hegseth and while we were fumbling trying to remember his last name (er, Hegsworth?), our friend blurted out "Slugworth?" Which is just perfect, that is our new nickname for that guy, Slugworth from Willy Wonka!

@stephencolbert.bsky.social how did I get tricked into following you?! We meant to follow Evie. Well, we did like you in "Bewitched"

We thought it humorous that when the Ukrainian forces captured a North Korean soldier he had notes to say “Resistance is futile"! Nice to know the North Koreans watch Star Trek The Next Generation.

Did you know David Lynch directed the original Dune movie in 1984? Lots of people, including Lynch himself, pan the film! We like it by the way, and if you didn't like it, we posit that you would dislike it even more if Lynch wasn't the director! How's that for an offhanded compliment!

We loved Bob Uecker in the "Major League" films.

Sometimes we like an entire franchise but have to pick one film as our movie topic. If you had to pick one from the 13 Star Trek films, which one would it be? Tricky since they cover 3 separate "crews". As an aside, we'll say our favorite ST original TV series episode has to be "Mirror, Mirror"!

A conversation we had recently, note that Mike is from Boston: Doug: What did you think of that Wicked movie? Mike: Which wickahd movie? (in Boston accent) Doug: You know, the movie with the witches! Mike: Ah, Witches of Eastwick! That IS a wickahd cool movie!

Just watched the Netflix movie "The Killer" and it was good! Two things were great: How the killer used aliases all from the classic TV show days, see how many you recognize when watching. And how the whole soundtrack was "Best of The Smiths"
