Just now realizing Mary Poppins is subversive AF.

It is tragically ironic that if someone robs a gas station and kills the clerk they probably get the death penalty but if you run an oil company and cause mass death (millions?) from climate change, war, famine, poverty, pollution, etc. you don’t face consequences. 1/?

Seeing many sad stories about how much money people have lost in this trump crash. I’m not a financial advisor but if you don’t need the money right away, I recommend not selling. It will recover (or it won’t and we have bigger issues) but no telling when, so stay in and keep making contributions.

Are we gonna co-opt “DOGE” and make it like “Woke”? Aka make it mean anything we don’t like?

It’s a mistake for Dems to merely speak out against tariffs without committing to fixing the economic issues that have plagued the working & middle class for decades. We need higher wages, education investment, domestic manufacturing. Laws on exec compensation, stock buybacks, campaign finance, etc.

Could Apple improve the voicemail feature on iPhones? Like add a “read / unread” toggle like on emails and iMessage? And make it easier to scroll thru? I hate having to manually clear out multiple spam VMs a day.

April Fool’s Day has become annoying in the social media era

Love the truck stop t shirts, hats, and stickers saying like “we the people are fed up” and it’s made in Nicaragua or China

If DEI is really discriminating against competent people, why don’t they all just go start their own companies and make bank? Pull themselves up by their bootstraps with rugged individualism and American entrepreneurial grit.

And another thing: for the olds who get upset about the younger people’s lack of patriotism: maybe ask yourself WHY they’re upset instead of being upset with them? Ya know: if you really care about leaving a better country to the next generations.

I called my congressional rep to see their position on on abolishing the Dept of Ed. Got the usual answer: “haven’t had a chance to talk them about it but happy to pass along your message”. How fucking patronizing. They need statements on this shit ready to go.

If you want to do some good in the world today, you could contact this lady in Arkansas and ask her what the fuck is wrong with her. She filed a bill to let parents sue barbers for giving kids haircuts that don’t “match biological sex”. www.arkansashouse.org/district/54

Guys I think trump has been saying “Make America Hate Again” this whole time and we just misunderstood.

In all the talk of trump voters getting their benefits cut: remember that poor people are much less likely to vote. It’s the middle class and beyond. So stop blaming them and focus on winning the middle class+.

Regarding the polling showing trump with his highest ever approval rating and the highest % since 2004 of Americans saying country on the right track: the majority still don’t approve of him and remember what came after 2004: recession and massive Dem gains (including Obama!).

It’s been 5 years since the world shut down and Breonna Taylor was murdered. This choir really encapsulates how I felt at the end of 2020, maybe it can bring you some comfort today or help you process: youtu.be/dCFdKpKLGxs?...

Arkansas has legalized nitrogen hypoxia as a means of execution. It is extremely cruel, which is a good fit for the state. The state rep who introduced the bill describes themselves as pro life 🤦‍♂️.

I’m pretty anti AI but I found a good use for it: analyzing the grade reading level of other social media users. I think a lot of misunderstanding comes from literally not being able to understand each other. Perhaps you (me) write too complexly! Maybe you’re wasting your time arguing!

Remember the Alamo: 189 years ago today the Battle of the Alamo ended with a defeat for the white immigrant slavery supporters. And today a $550 million remodel campaign is underway. That money could be used to build a house for every homeless person in San Antonio with plenty of money left over.

Re: the success of MAHA: Maybe democrats can figure out a way to appeal to the deeply individualist/anti authority part of the American psyche?

Wow I can’t believe how poorly the tv ratings were for trump’s disastrous speech last night. Biden crushed him in the same speech 4 years ago. America can’t afford to be embarrassed on the world stage like that. Dude got crushed by Seinfeld reruns.

Follow the money: I think it’s helpful to remember that there aren’t really liberal versions of many conservative institutions like the Federalist Society, the Heritage Foundation, ALEC, Family Research Council, CIS, Claremont Institute, Eagle Forum, TPUSA, CPAC, etc. Our orgs are grassroots.

Re: trump & Zelenskyy: We all remember Putin supported trump in 2016 to aid his seizure of Ukraine, and trump’s 1st impeachment concerned Ukrainian aid right? Ukraine is trump’s raison d’etre and he is intensely jealous of Zelenskyy and beholden to Putin.

When the Nazis rolled into Denmark and made the Jews wear yellow Stars of David, the Danes all wore them to make it hard for the Nazis to find the Jews.

To the trans person working the checkout line at a Walmart in a deep red area: you are brave and I hope everything works out for you.

I’ve seen a lot of talk about people voting against their economic interests. I agree it’s unwise, but I want to point out that trump’s highest support is not with people who typically qualify for assistance. It’s actually more middle class people. Important distinction.
