Had the #Seestar out in framing mode on M81 and M82 tonight. The 3D printed dew/light shield helped with the gradient from local street lights. This is a quick process of the Seestar stacked fits file. I'll debayer, register and stack the raw fits files tomorrow. #astrophotography #astronomy

The Two-faced Whirlpool Galaxy - From Goddard Space Flight Center - https://flic.kr/p/9a2i63

A smooth galaxy, observed with the Hubble Space Telescope in the GEMS survey. It is at redshift 1.24 (lookback time 8.81 billion years) with coordinates (53.30622, -27.83498). 111 volunteers classified this galaxy in Galaxy Zoo: Hubble.

A spiral galaxy in a merger, observed with the Hubble Space Telescope in the GOODS-S-FULLDEPTH survey. It is at redshift 0.68 (lookback time 6.39 billion years) with coordinates (53.08627, -27.86172). 40 volunteers classified this galaxy in Galaxy Zoo: Hubble.🔭

The protagonist of this photo is the nebula called Herbig-Haro 46/47, which is located in the Vela Constellation, 1,470 light-years away from Earth. In a small corner below the Herbig-Haro 46/47 nebula, an object shaped like a question mark "?" was discovered, which is interesting and curious.

Cradle of Creation – A celestial vista of a planetary nebula with a bright white dwarf star at its core. Expanding shock waves, dust formations, and glowing plasma reveal stellar evolution in the final stages of a sun-like star’s life cycle.

I am currently putting one of @hausderastronomie.bsky.social 's Celestron Origins through its paces. This is 3.75 hours' worth of photons for the Whirlpool Galaxy M51. I really like the level of detail. You can even see the small pink dots of ultra-hot hydrogen gas! 1/ 🧪🔭

16K followers, thank you all so much. I am absolutely stunned and amazed. Here’s the Andromeda galaxy, our neighbour, located 2.5M light years away. So in this image we are seeing it as it was 2.5 million years ago. The 2nd image is the rig I used. What do you see @kat-astro-bot.bsky.social ?

See that bright, glowing object with a tail? That's not a comet. That's the planet Mercury.

a heart in space, happy valentines day ❤️🌌

🔭 🧪 #Universe #cosmology 🧵 Here is an extraordinary image of the star cluster RCW 38, captured by ESO's VISTA telescope in the Atacama Desert, Chile. The cluster's image, located about 5500 ly away in the constellation Vela, is 80 million pixels in size. Reference➡️ www.eso.org/public/unite...

Everything is terrible so here are some adorable fox kits.

🔭 🧪 #cosmology 🧵 1/ Crazy and fascinating! High-resolution images from Hubble, combined with data from the WM Keck Observatory, have allowed the identification of 9 rings in the giant galaxy LEDA 1313424, nicknamed "Bullseye". Image source➡️ esahubble.org/images/opo25... The rings were probably⤵️

maybe humans should just look at the sky more often

Honest question—no dunking. For those who opposed Biden/Harris over Gaza and voted third party or for Trump—how do you feel now about Trump saying the U.S. will own Gaza? Same issue, or any regrets?

Question to Hasan Piker Ne zaman evleneceksin?

Released from Hubble a few days ago - the image shows a giant among galaxies LEDA 1313424 or, the Bullseye. A smaller blue dwarf galaxy went through the centre leaving 9 star filled rings. Like dropping a pebble into a pond! Credit: #NASA, #ESA, Imad Pasha, Pieter van Dokkum 🔭 #Space #Astronomy

🔭 Our Gaia telescope has revealed two mysterious objects: a huge exoplanet & a brown dwarf, both orbiting low-mass stars, a scenario thought to be extremely rare. This is the first time a planet has been discovered by Gaia’s ability to sense wobbling stars 👉 esa.int/Science_Expl...

The Pacman Nebula (NGC 281) is a bright emission nebula located in the constellation Cassiopeia and was discovered in 1883 by Emerson Barnard. Due to the object's path and the pine forest at my location it required several sessions to collect SHO data used for this photo #astronomy #astrophotography

I heard that you can make a wish when you see a shooting star. So I made a wish: I hope the war in my hometown will end soon, people can rebuild their homes soon, and I hope the world will be peaceful.

How do you feel about the sharp contrast between darkness and light?

The Fossil Footprint Nebula (NGC 1491) located in the constellation Perseus. This LRGB image is comprised of a 4 hour total exposure of imaging data. It's gets it's nickname because it resembles a footprint left in space.

A single photo of the Orion Nebula (M42). It's incredible how detailed only a 200 second exposure is showing such awesome cloud details! This is far better than my prior attempt at M42 and you can see the resolved core Trapezium cluster.

The Dolphin Head Nebula (SH2-308) in the constellation Canis Major is one of my favorite deep sky objects. This image was taken with the Askar V telescope and the ASI071MC-Pro color camera. A total of 5 hours of shooting time.
