Calling Tudor historians, does anyone know if it’s true that Gardiner, Bp Winchester died of dropsy? And has anyone seen a source suggesting that he actually started to “burst” towards the end? I have just been reading a very bloodthirsty Protestant who goes into considerable detail.

'A rotund believer, checked dress shirt half-untucked so that Phil recoils from a glimpse of shaggy underbelly, shouts, “Amen!” Feel rather ecstatic after reading this fabulous story by @eleanorfuller.bsky.social. So vivid, so engaging, so many original sentences. What a writer.
