Two and half months after surgery on my back I have finally been fully discharged by RDNS, leaving behind medical supplies and many pairs of scissors.

Yet another attempt at bullet journalling to help me organise my life and help me feel less anxious about the things I need to get done. This time I'm doing it in Microsoft Word. It seems to be a good fit for me after trying a notebook and pen, and a template in Notion.

RIP Skype

Good news of the week is that my diabetes is still under tight control. HbA1c test came back at 5.2%. Surprising as the last few months have been a bit stressful - not much exercise and stress eating.

The Australian entry to this year’s Eurovision Song Contest is very… Eurovision…

Summer isn't over yet.

This week I have felt as if the healing of the cyst wound on my back has gone backwards a little - irritation from dressing adhesive, hyper-granulation requiring silver nitrate treatment, and now I see that there's blood on the dressing.

Nurse visits for wound care on my back now down to two times per week. The latest development is that the silicone adhesive on the dressing is notnirrotating my skin so can't use that anymore; shame as that stayed on so well.

I've been watching Dr Who since the late part of the Tom Baker Era. The series has really lost its way. Peak was David Tennant. Matt Smith was good too. Capaldi was okay, let down by some bad scripts. Whittaker suffered from frenetic verbal diarrhea and bad scripts. Gatwa, by and large was the same.

I watched the F1 launch live this morning. There were a few good video packages before each car launch, but on the whole, watching the drivers walk the along the huge catwalk and then watching them awkardly answer some questions was pure cringe. "Highlights":

You know you've been out of the office for a long time when you come back in February and there are Christmas presents on your desk.

Excluding the months of physiotherapy, I don't think my having a finger broken in six places took as long to heal as my back wound. It was a heck of a lot more painful though.

I've just started using Grammarly. It doesn't like me using “actually” so much 😆. Very good at catching typos though.

It has been a fairly long recovery, but having a wound somewhere I can't see or reach makes me dependent on external care services and RDNS has been excellent.

Tomorrow will be my first day back in the office this year. My back wound is finally getting to the stage where district nurse visits for wound care aren't as frequent and might stop in a week or two.

Summer 2026!?! Wow, it seems like I read Light Bringer an age ago and have been waiting for the final book forever. www.reddit.com/r/redrising/...

A wound that was 2cm x 4cm and 2cm deep two months ago just after Christmas is now basically down to 1cm x 1.8cm with the cavity about up to the surface. I feel it’s close to the end of the healing process finally. Just got to get some treatment with silver nitrate to burn off some hyper granulation

42 degrees celcius today, and I have to go out for a hospital appointment. It's fortunate that I live near the train station and that there's a train station at the hospital. Waiting for the connecting train will be a bit of a buggerance.

I have mixed feelings about Section 31 having just watched it. Visuals are great, execution a bit hit and miss. Started out like Mission Impossible, sauntered into Oceans 11, and then lollopped into something else. It was an okay movie. Better than Nemesis, bad Irish accent aside. /1

NEW COMIC: Should They...? #webcomic #webcomics #comic #comics

I actually want to get back to the gym, up my activity, but having a gaping hole in my back is very restrictive as even a brisk walk when it's warm aggravates the wound. Also, stress eating junk this past month is not helping. I wonder what my next HbA1c test is going to show.

it is actually insane that adobe charges you to cancel a subscription, i did not know i agreed to this
