I don't think anyone is demanding that every person needs stacks of film, VHS, DVDs and Blurays but the fact is, owning physical media is the only way to guarantee access to what you wish to see in the future. We are seeing streaming getting yanked on a whim and it's only going to get worse.

Been making mini comics these past few days. Capybara Facts: dauid.com/comics?comic...

I was also told to ignore bullying. Then one day in 5th grade I completely snapped and beat up the main bully. Not only was I never bullied again, I became best friends with the bully!! Very confusing because I was always told “violence solves nothing”. But in that case violence solved everything.

Lately I’ve tried to write down my dreams when I wake up in the middle of the night. I don’t want to forget any potentially brilliant ideas when I go back to sleep. Here’s my note from last night:

Wait, Andrew Keir turned 41 years old while shooting Quatermass and the Pit?! Professor Quatermass is a year YOUNGER than me? But he’s an old man. Oh no…

When you’re used to just watching TikToks.

She and the team were fantastic! I kept my ideas pretty loose and mostly just let them do their magic. Really loved Louise’s idea to take inspiration from ancient Greek theater masks for the minions. For Shazam I wanted to try and go a bit more modern this time since we went old school in the 1st.

It saddens me that this is where it’s all heading. You will never own a copy of a movie again. They’ll be able to change, censor or just flat out delete movies that you “own”.

Today’s comics haul. My favorite thing is to take chances on some comics from the small indie/self published section. It’s nice to be surprised. Especially with really indie comics where you can get unfiltered and unique voices straight from the source. It gets weird sometimes.

Short horror film creators (actors, writers, directors, dps) please send my your Vimeo/YT links. I'm creating a weekly column to highlight short horror films (<30 min) on MovieReelist.com. Help me help my audience find you!

Watching older sci-fi movies that take place now is so disappointing. Sure, they got the dystopia right but where’s all the cool sci-fi stuff we were promised? (No Escape, 1994)

It’s been 10 years since @ponysmasher.bsky.social and I made our first horror short- Cam Closer- so we decided to celebrate by making a sequel of sorts! Cam Closer II https://youtu.be/S--600PIa9I
