I’ve seen so many people wondering why these photos look so good/dramatic/cinematic in comparison to now and it’s SHADOWS. Film/tv used to light for depth; to frame the people in shot so yr eye goes to them. Everything is lit flat now for ‘realism’ (& we’re afraid of colour so that’s muted too).
