This pretty much sums up the 21st century for me. Too busy having fun to notice we're sliding into an abyss.

At this juncture I’d like to point out: * we’re on the brink of a golden age of medical healing * there’s enough money in the world to solve every problem in the world * a united approach could stop the climate crisis But a small group of sociopaths seeking personal power are going to throw it away.

Seriously, some people won’t believe the unadulterated, full-blooded and 100% constitutional crisis is finally here until the esteemed justices are being led from the Court into the courtyard and lined up against the wall.

#Trump says that all he wants to do in #Ukraine is to "stop the loss of 5,000 Russian and Ukrainian soldiers a week." But the Ukrainian soldiers are dying precisely because they'd never accept Trump's diktat, while those fighting on Russia's side are invading a foreign land. Why save those?

It's not a peace plan, it's capitulation by installments. All compromises are expected of Ukraine, all benefits are to go to Russia. And if #Ukraine rejects it, #Trump will still very likely go ahead and reward #Putin with sanction relief and Crimea recognition.

I guess it says something about your organization when being compassionate with the weak gets you labeled as progressive. #pope

President #Bukele is a living proof that Latin American leaders can overcome #Trump's racism. Just incarcerate 2% of your own population and put behind bars any brown-faced people the United States happens to send you and they'll treat you like an equal.

the american electoral system is basically 500,000 information-resistant people across a handful of states taking a guess and then going "haha! oops!" every two years. this process takes 18 months and costs four trillion dollars every time

"At what point did you know that America had become a fascist country, grandfather?"

More in No, Other People: New poll: “America would be better off if more people worked in manufacturing.” • 80% of Americans agree • 20% disagree “I would be better off if I worked in a factory.” • 25% of Americans agree • 73% disagree • 2% currently work in a factory

I just want to tip my hat to the crack team of White House economists who were able to discover--in just a few short days--that the U.S. is dependent on China for smartphones, computers and semiconductors.

Remember that time we cut a really bad deal with a lying dictator and instead of a lasting peace we got four decades of Cold War? Yeah, let’s do that again.

Yes. The tariffs don't represent a coherent philosophy or political strategy. Trump simply does not know how global trade works. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/09/o...

Trump has done the same damage to our health, environment and security as to our markets, it's just that there isn't a stock ticker that measures the impact so clearly
