Goodbye Roberta Flack. You were great and I loved you. Here’s her First Take album, recorded 1969 but spiritually part of the much better 70s. Not a dud track here, and I’m a bugger for a fast forward. open.spotify.com/album/2ARWEO... Raising a glass to her and the memories.

The Camel Site in northern Saudi Arabia is such a gem. About 7,000 years ago, people used stone tools, raised platforms, ladders, and incredible skill to carve life-sized camels into the rock faces. Fascinating article by @mariaguagnin.bsky.social and colleagues anetoday.org/guagnin-came...

When you can’t choose between curry and pizza BUT butter paneer pizza exists

I was born in 1973 and I could talk about the National Front crawling over my estate, teachers bullying me because my parents were divorced, kids being bullied over free school meals but let’s stick with the miners strike or Hilsborough as examples of how very not unified we were

Shame

I’ve had an utterly shit Monday but at least Claude is living his best life

I had my reservations (which is fine cos I won’t be living there) but OMG #villageview is looking great (it’s still not *in* Dean Village mind) Anyone want to give me a million quid for my birthday?

The upside to having the kind of filthy windows that lower property prices for an entire postcode is the excellent late winter shadows

Worth a read, gig audiences are now so awful it makes me less likely to bother going, I hope theatre manages to hold back from the worst of it but….

These posts are counter productive, circumstances change and people need to make heart breaking choices, let’s not shame them for doing the responsible thing and taking pets to be rehomed (Also love the replies saying the cat isn’t crying it’s got an eye problem)

As a non-Catholic living in a non-Catholic country I’d probably just like a Pope that stays in their lane.

Quilting, for when you want to lose your mind while also being terrible at a hobby @murdermysteryquilt

If you’re a Frasier fan, take a few minutes out to read this, you won’t regret it: open.substack.com/pub/archerpa...

*record scratch* I bet you’re wondering how I wound up here #MonsieurClaude #Caturday

If you are waiting at the Haymarket tram stop, then you might be lucky to see the dinosaurs feeding at Roseberry House #Edinburgh @threadinburgh.scot @secretedinburgh.bsky.social Demolish rebuild Demolish rebuild …

Edinburgh rainbows ALWAYS end at Waitrose

I don’t often feel rage. That said, I’ve been getting pretty damn close, watching one of the few truly warrior like heroes in the world of leadership…Zelensky…being rat fucked by two of the biggest pieces of shit on the planet.

I think when people are genuinely scared and depressed for themselves and their children by something happening elsewhere that they can’t personally change then giving their kids a decent half term and putting the bins out is an achievement in itself and something to focus on

This strikes me as really against the spirit of hospitality. Wouldn’t make me feel great as the customer, hope it’s not a sign of things to come.

I’m fairly bored of lasers after an hour of watching Claude chase after it so fair play to him for trying to get it work himself (but if he does I REFUSE to chase after it)

I mean I guess it can’t make the world any worse right now, you may as well open the tomb

"People care about immigration!" Lol actually they just want an NHS dentist, not the string and door handle the are currently using
