Things gettin' real in Boomerville.

David Brooks, calling for an uprising. Huh.

I was just told by my former coworkers at the federal agency I recently left that the entire office was RIFfed. This is a procurement office that works hard every day providing necessary goods and services, ensuring there is no fraud, waste or abuse, and standing a stalwart stewards of your money.

SCOOP: The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau terminated the positions of 1,400 of the agency's 1,700 employees; medical debt and student loans will now be deprioritized.

Fucking James Carville. It's like he beat Bill Clinton's other advisors at Mortal Kombat in the 1990s and he just keeps jamming those same moves into the joysticks decade after decade convinced that if it worked back then it should work again.

And by "share protest info" they mean "snitch on everyone who hates Trump".

If Karoline Leavitt pops up on Fox News in the next half hour asserting that the Florida active shooter is a trans socialist with a social media record of ACAB and advocating for open borders you can assume this is Trump's move to initiate martial law on Easter Sunday.

JFC. And it's 2025 so before I even click on it I'm wondering if this is the excuse Trump will use to kick off martial law on Easter Sunday.

Anyone care to speculate if this situation is what is driving Chuck Schumer and others to follow James Carville's admonition about letting the voters feel the consequences of their actions? If you are the reality-based party is your only real weapon letting the voters feel reality?

My only disagreement would be with the idea that there is an on/off switch on the rage machine. Rush Limbaugh built that machine with no off switch. And Rupert Murdoch has been in charge of ensuring its' perpetual operation. The lowest setting on the machine is "simmering resentment".

The people that founded this nation would be astounded to find that in 250 years the worst of us have managed to so perfectly replicate the situation that is described in the American revolutionaries' list of grievances against the Crown of England.
