I didn't used to think much about symbols outside of art. Now they trouble me.

If immigrants have to do it the right way so do Presidents.

Lots of rallies. Military parades. Attempted to seize power, then got elected. Scapegoated a minority. Broke his word. Sold out former friends. Attacked schools, judges, and the press. Endorsed violence. Loyalty purges after taking power. People got grabbed off the street with no cause

This government's lack of empathy, honesty, integrity, and good policy has me madder than a mosquito in a mannequin factory.

I know seventeen ways to mess with percentages and still be accurate, which is 247 percent more than your average American. I squint whenever percentages and averages are used in politics.

In literature class, we appreciate a well rounded character. In America, not so much. We like characters more than we like character lately.

Newsworthy= That which does not happen very often, gets attention, and holds it (and also some facts to add some class). You can't spell infotainment without "taint."

"When I choose three examples of a topic you are unfamiliar with, I have an immense power over you. Because I know I had options, but you are not aware of that. If I choose three true examples and tell them well, you will start to believe that men biting dogs is more common than you thought."

Black and White is only good for the game of chess.

Word magic changes as little as real magic, without a whole bunch of people willing to help.

A belief system isn't supposed to be comfy. It is supposed to challenge you to be better and make you worry about the fact you weren't better enough. -Stuff I Said Today

In class we used to talk a lot about the pragmatic hat. When you put it on, you assume a character has a very good well thought out reason for what he/she does. It is fun to do, but not very realistic. The realistic hat is another hat entirely. Most teachers call them lenses but I like hats.

Rory Sutherland is worth a listen. He was talking about experience goods, the goods that you don't see the need for until you try them, and he called them air fryer goods.

"Isn't it wrong that you earned it and the government wants to take some when you die?" What's the better way you propose? If the inheritance is big enough, the government should get some of it. When a bunch of money comes into your hands, you pay a tax in America, working or inherited.

I love this.

Why I Love Wikipedia It shows it's sources You can look at edits to the articles It's not a for profit enterprise It has articles on the reliability of wikipedia That is probably why Trump is coming for it.

To Sum it Up: DOGE mistakes pile up, their savings claims go down, Big Balls was a great hire, cutting programs they don't understand, so fast they can't figure them out in time. The lies about Social Security make me the most upset.
