I think for some streamers that is intentional, as a subtle attempt to not foster parasocial relationships

oh oh oh!!! a similar version of this concept was used IRL as a 1692 lycanthropy trial defense by Thiess of Kaltenbrun. he tl;dr admitted to being a werewolf, but claimed that he and others were "hounds of god" and would travel to hell and kill demons. they just exiled him, instead of executing him.

advanced wars and fire emblem were sitting in the back of my head loosely when I was making these, but I went back and looked and they're like not even that similar aside from conceptually. pretty proud of these all things considered :)

the part that I disliked was frieren changing from that weird slowpaced floaty journey to a more standard arc later on tbh. didn't get that far in the anime tho I think the pacing is intentional in frieren's case, but not at all in SNK
comment in response to post
(although i would say maybe give the manga a shot instead of the anime since you can read at a faster pace anyways)
comment in response to post
if you don't like the pacing I don't think you would learn to like it tbh. the fact that it just sort of coasts along at its own pace (especially since it parallels how frieren's lifespan in comparison to others made her take things REALLY slowly) is part of the appeal imo

i'm a really big fan of the Vigilant mod. really gotta play the other big mods the next time I go through skyrim, it's been a while tho
comment in response to post
yeah, you kinda need the wiki and potentially tutorial videos. kruggsmash has a useful one for the free version :)

I love so much of the actual lore of the TES setting, it's a real shame that almost none of it made it into skyrim. modding it adds so many layers of complexity to it, too, like nobody who's modded it heavily has even remotely similar experiences

dwarf fortress, and any of the games that take heavy inspiration from it. (minecraft, rimworld, etc) especially the survival and creative aspects. for a game that initially came out 20 years ago it's only grown in replayability, too :)

tumblr gets WORSE interaction than bsky with low follower count. bsky is the most interaction i have had on social media in spite of having a way smaller following than on twitter or tumblr, and it's also way easier to grow
