Dropped Episode 159 this morning! YouTube, Apple Pods, Spotify, & everywhere you get your pods. We share analysis on the windy away win vs Toronto, discuss Tayvon's importance to the club after his 100th game, & debate what the Aidan O'Neill signing means for our starting XI.

O‘Neill’s played 27 games this season for Standard Liege (25 starts), with 6 nat’l caps mixed in, dating back through July 2024. Worth noting that in 23 out of his 25 starts he went 90’+. Will be an extra long season if he finds himself a regular in the line-up through October.

Episode 158 is out now! Watch or listen on YouTube, Apple Pods, Spotify, or anywhere you get your pods. We recap #NYCFC’s 2-0 loss vs the Revs, discuss Pascal’s line-up experimentation, & where we think the team most needs reinforcements. (transfer window closes tomorrow..)

New York City FC looked dysfunctional and sloppy while conceding twice to a team that had yet to score from open play this season, translating to a 2-0 L at Gillette Stadium Here are @matthewmangam.bsky.social’s 3 Takeaways from that #NYCFC loss in New England

Tayvon back, Perea back, Juli for Baki, good subs. I don’t know if it’s salvageable, but these guys should help.

Half-time thoughts.. do we suck?

Cavallo & Perea back in the subs. Cavallo’s first time available since his injury in his MLS Debut against the Revs in Week 4, & Perea’s first time available since Week 2 vs LAFC. #NYCFC

WHAT A BALL FROM ILENIČ

We dropped Episode 156 this morning! We recap the 7 goal game that was #NYCFC vs Atlanta. We discuss the Freese/Thiago error, Hannes' brace, Ronny's return, & how badly we need reinforcements. All links in bio: Apple Pods, Spotify, YouTube, wherever you get your pods.

New food offerings at Citi Field. First NYCFC game at CF on 4/12

On the field for #NYCFC right now: - Jonny Shore, 17 years old - Seymour Reid, 17 years old - Maximo Carrizo, 17 years old (david lee please sign some players our depth cannot be a bunch of MLSNP teenagers even though they’re ballers)

Interesting to hear Keaton describe himself as the no. 6 in his postgame comments When he plays with Shore, he concedes the no. 8 role he dominated for so many years to best unlock the 17 year old’s skillset The Keaton x Shore pivot certainly appears to be the answer to the James Sands hole

Maxi & Alonso are cooking together right now.

JULIAAAAANNNNN GOL (maybe best moment of Hannes’ season right there on the assist too? he’s hopefully heating up after last game & now this)

Thiago OG followed by Cavallo subbed out injured, vibes at an all time low here. It looks like 3 at-the-back now, Birk on the left, Haak in the middle, & Thiago on the right. (birk VERY eager to join the attack in our first possession post-substitution)

Cavallo’s first MLS start. 🚨

(🙇‍♂️🔮 manifesting nico starting at LB and not hannes 🔮🧘‍♀️)

Episode 153 out now! On YouTube, Spotify, & Apple Pods, all links in bio. We recap our trip to NYCFC’s 10th Anniversary Home Opener & share our analysis. Discussed Shore & Julian’s impact on the game, a post-game presser with Pascal, & more. (recorded it on the way home)

Yesterday we had the opportunity to ask Pirlo what it meant to him personally to be back in New York for the club's 10th anniversary. "I cannot be happier to come back.. The fans have been great.. It is always a coming home moment for me when I come to New York."

Hannes replaced Agustín in the Starting XI just before kick-off. Pascal shared the reason for this line-up change in the post-game presser: Agustín showed up late to the game. Hannes ultimately takes his spot & goes on to score the game winner. #NYCFC

That’s a Johnny Shore MOTM right there ladies & gentlemen. (in his first MLS start no less)

Hannes gol. #NYCFC

It feels so good to be home. Happy 10 years everyone, let’s enjoy this one. 💙 (absolutely beautiful night for some soccer)

Taty Maxi, Sands Callens Freese

Just dropped Episode 152! We share a quick analysis on LAFC v #NYCFC, & then dive into our annual over/under reactions to Blue City Radio’s & @blueballspod.bsky.social over/under lines. We cover Alonso Goals, Hannes G+A, Clean Sheets, Table Position, & much more. Links in bio to watch/listen.

New York City FC's current Roster Profile for Spring 2025. #NYCFC

No clue how to feel about that result, but we learned a lot about the team & Pascal. Just 115’ minutes of madness, start to finish. The MLS is truly back.

Competitive minutes for Cavallo to start the season is huge (in for O’Toole), & Juli comes in for Ojeda. & we didn’t have to wait for these subs until after the 80th minute! Jansen seemingly getting it mostly right so far sub-wise. (would’ve MUCH preferred Juli for Hannes)

Alonso is coming for that boot this season.

Pascal subbed Shore in at half-time for Tana, with Haak siding back to CB & Shore filling that “Sands” role. Says a lot about what Pascal thinks of Shore, who he’s named in pressers when mentioning young players that will need to step up this season. Here’s Shore’s chance.

I cannot believe Tana is still on the field and I cannot believe anyone on this planet likes Luis Suarez

We looked like the team down a man towards the end of that 1st half. I’d also say we need to get Tana off the field before it’s 10v10, but not sure how you replace him. Slide Haak back there? Then fill the hole in the midfield with Perea?

Part 2 of our pre-season discussion is out now, Episode 149. We discuss #NYCFC's 2025 transfers: incoming & outgoing. Shared thoughts on Santi's departure, Sands' injury, & how the yutes / players returning from injury can feel like new signings (yes, we're coping w that one).

The MLS dropped their predictions & season previews for #NYCFC, we've got Table Position & Projected XI. What're we thinking? Santi departing alters the line-up heavily. I think Maxi/Hannes split time at 10, Julian at RW, & Malachi at LW. Ojeda can plug in at LW/RW as-needed.

The Pascal Era episode, Episode 148, is out now! Links to watch/listen in bio. We discuss Pascal's tactics, why he was hired, what #NYCFC's players have said about him, & cover what we've heard from him in pressers so far. (quick one just over 20mins, but more coming thursday!)

Miami’s mid-week CCL game got pushed back a day, so they’ll play SKC on Thursday, then play #NYCFC to open the regular season on Saturday. I know legs are as rested as they’ll ever be, but (hoping) wondering if this will affect their line-up when we play them.

Programming update for pre-season 2025! We'll be uploading a few quick hitter easy listens (15-20mins) this week before kick-off on Saturday. (know we're later than usual this season, some studio renovations were in order 🦝, but happy to be back on the mics)

Recap of #NYCFC’s 2025 Pre-Season: Win, 2-0 v RSL Draw, 2-2 v LA Galaxy Draw, 0-0 v SKC Win, 3-1 v San Diego Loss, 1-3 v St. Louis Win, 1-0 v Minnesota United Goal Scorers: 4 - Alonso 2 - Bakrar 1 - Keaton 1 - Birk (free-kick) 1 - Julian (penalty)
