The PostHog growth story is wild 🤯 • Used open-source to build INSANE trust • Marketed "we've decided to make less money" • Built word-of-mouth through radical transparency • Ignored enterprise (and still got Fortune 500 clients) Check the deep dive: www.plg.news/p/posthog-u...

A quick quality of life upgrade.. It's now possible to edit feature flag variants while an experiment is in draft, and create an experiment with an existing feature flag.

You can now open web vitals results from web analytics as a product analytics insight with a single click. This is handy for a lot of reasons, such as if you want to run a deep analysis on how results correlate to other metrics, or if you want to create threshold alerts for your web vitals.

TIME is what blocks people from building new software. That's why hackathons like the one this weekend with @ElevenLabs work: calendars are blocked, people have given themselves permission to learn, play, make and ship. (For PostHog, that's called a Tuesday. And Thursday.) But we're here for it.

us: we're a totally serious company also us:

Until recently I thought @posthog.com was just a cool company with a great brand and an actual (not cringe) sense of humour. But I've been a customer for ~6 weeks and damn, it's a great product too.

We have news

You can now assign issues to groups in our error tracking beta, enabling you to quickly sort through errors from the dashboard. It's especially useful if you either don't know who to blame for an error specifically, or you just want to annoy an entire team of engineers all at once.

Do you dream of building talking, autonomous robots, but in a totally-not-weird way? PostHog is sponsoring the WORLDWIDE HACKATHON, hosted by ElevenLabs and a16z. Get prizes, plus PostHog credits (when you build with our LLM observability product).

You can now create a new issue in Linear from within PostHog, complete with a linked recording and custom title and description. Nice.

This is what peak performance looks like

Our LLM observability beta is progressing quickly, with a new Typescript SDK, a Vercel AI SDK, and full support for Anthropic. See our docs for more info: https://posthog.com/docs/ai-engineering

WTF is activation and why should engineers care? Read the full post: https://dub.link/activation

another brutal day of being a founder and having to choose between browsing linkedin and buying .ai domains i'll never use

startup idea: datadog, but for cat people. datadog is a $48b company. there are about 3 dog people for every 2 cat people. using this ratio, we can comfortably assume DataCat would be a $30b startup. who is building this?

Projects now support multiple environments! This means you can have separate `Dev` and `Prod` environments setup within the same project, and switch between them while viewing a dashboard to see how the data differs between environments. See pinned post for how to join beta.

You can now track your website's Core Web Vitals in our web analytics dashboard. Opt in to the new beta (see pinned post) and you'll get access a new dedicated tool that breaks down all the web vitals, your best and worst performing pages, and the performance trend for your whole website.

in defiance of @j406.bsky.social, max love pineapple on pizza

Max is among us 🙇

1. Product engineers succeed when they ship quickly, and iterate. 2. Feature flags are an essential tool for doing so. The catch? Flags are dangerous when misused. So, don't make these feature flag mistakes...

I've only just been told about PostHog and am already a total sucker for their tone of voice. Their Fantasy or Taylor Swift Data Protection Agreement generator is just divine https://posthog.com/dpa

We have another new product in open beta: LLM observability. We currently capture data like latency, the cost of each generation, the model used, and there's more to come as the beta evolves. Join the beta via our feature preview menu – see pinned post.

Our new Experiments UI introduces stacked delta charts, which help you quickly assess results for complex experiments. It also standardizes the way that primary and secondary metrics are compared, enabling you to specify up to 20 (!!) unique metrics per experiment.

Small quality of life improvement for session replay. Replays now prefer event properties to person properties when describing sessions. This gives you a better overview of replay details as you move through the UI. We've also added more GeoIP data to tooltips, and polished the overview design.

Enabling PostHog AI from the feature preview menu (see pinned post) unlocks the ability to chat to your data via Max. Max supports trends and funnel insights atm, but we're adding support for retention insights soon. Max is still in beta, so there are some rough edges – please share your feedback.

We've jumped on the bandwagon and added a discreet, AI chatbot to our website. You can summon them by pressing `?` anywhere on the website. We've been testing it internally for a few weeks and found it useful enough to roll out with confidence. You can also open Max from most docs pages.

Error tracking is now available as an open beta in our feature preview menu – see our pinned post for how to access. As with all beta features, error tracking is entirely free while we continue to work on it. All we ask is that you share any feedback and bug reports with us.

Getting together with my friends to PostHog

Shoutout to @posthog.com for just being awesome. 🤎🦔

We're constantly releasing new features as open betas and feature previews. Here's how to enable them. Go take a look... 👀

Little known fact... hedgehogs are expert butterfly catchers.

Since we're new here, we should address something important... We know. We've always known. We did it anyway.

Hello, world. 🦔
