Feels like the whole world is in Bali.

I allowed myself to be talked out of a strong "this is a bad idea" instinct and am now regretting it. It's rare and I'll live -- just one of those things where the unseen risk is different for different people.

I don't know a single Naomi IRL and here I can't keep 'em straight

An unsettling artifact of modern times: watching someone you kind of know abruptly and absolutely lose their mind on the internet

Dreamt that I borrowed a T-shirt from some guy - and the arms were too tight. My body has some delusions of grandeur?

I made that pickle fountain I saw on instagram

Gawd I *detest* talking real estate with people who think every property they lay eyes on is "dated" and "needs a remodel", when in reality they can't tell the difference between particleboard/plastic vs. hardwood/ceramic.

The new normal, and not just in Ont.

"La Dolce Villa" on Netflix: A total waste of a 1€-Italian-project-house premise. Pity. There are winners and losers in the "An American Abroad" genre; I'd rank this venture on par with "An Embarrassment of Mangoes", and way below "Emily in Paris".

Got my annual haircut. Just in time for the hot season.

Bourdain endearingly dubbed Sarawak Laksa "the weapons-grade plutonium of breakfasts". In its simplest form (store-bought Sarawak Laksa paste), it still utilizes upwards of 15 components -- yet it costs the same as aglio olio at a local café.

Oz wants biometrics and certified documents in the application to issue a "free" 72-hr layover visa so I guess we won't be exiting the airport in transit. A different world now.

Finished a book at last, had to pause Bryson to make that happen. This went super quick as you'd expect - a novelization of an Agatha Christie script for a play. Plot was classic Christie. The writing... a little lacking. I wonder what currency the sticker price is in?? #booksky

Watching "The Recruit". Feels like the first and most Gen Z thing I've laid eyes on.

Truly never seen a weather forecast as useful as this.

Paid the accountant so I guess that's final.

Swam 20 laps / 500m.

All these years I’ve wrestled with self-doubt and imposter syndrome, and DOGE cured it all in a month. I bet this is where most of their success will ultimately be. Curing people like me.

The Guy just got off the phone with an adorable Kiwi Northlander liveaboard dad, who's got a small boat listed for sale that we're trying to rent. /"There are some Canadians here, maybe you know them"/ 😂

The interview was worth tuning into, and dude said that once they came to a stop and were sorting out and getting off the plane, everyone on the plane was checking in on their neighbor and trying to help😢 humanity is still out there.

Travel transport logistics - My scope: - Flights - Trains long and short - Buses big and small - Car rental His scope: Miles and points conversions, campervans, bicycles, motorcycles, cabriolets, sailboats, repositioning cruises, magic carpet rides.

So... have P46/Rose Street, Marc Heu and etc. raised prices on cake and custard in light of the egg situation?

Nice to be able to have a machine + optician check-up get most of the way without an ophthalmologist appointment, AND have the cost be either free, or included in the price of new eyeglasses.

Lol this sign "Do not bring food into the library Food residue will attract mice Mice will acquire knowledge in the library Get into university Then replace you" 😂

I asked The Guy why MIL talked about moving countries if a certain someone won but has never asked him to sponsor her visa. He said moving from the Iron Range to the big city after 15 years was in effect moving countries for her...

The Venn Diagram of Techbro "Timeless Thoughts" and my Asian relations' "Ancient Wisdom" is a circle.

Added some general aviation and rural Canehdian accounts to my feed. 🙌

Older relatives posting "I asked DeepSeek" and "I asked ChatGPT" and I ask you, what could possibly go wrong lmao

Done the 2-store perambulation, waiting for The Guy to show up with a bag of Veranda Blonde from the 3rd.

I have never been here, and yet I feel I have stood in this image many a time. Incredible.

With the suggestion that strong winds may have contributed, METAR at the time: CYYZ 171900Z 27028G35KT 6SM R24L/3000VP6000FT/U BLSN BKN034 M09/M14 A2993 RMK CU6 SLP149 Winds 270 @ 28 kts gusting to 35. #DL4819

Oh right, weevils. And meal moths. The thing I forget about the tropics is how quickly everything grows: bacteria, fungi, insects.

Today I learned that the Hobbit Home on the Peter Jackson movie set is 6500 sq ft / 600 sq metres!!

Might be projecting a little, but looking at glacier photos 20 years apart is... chilling.

Open-faced toasts that go: Sambal / poached egg / rocket, followed by prosciutto / Brie / preserves. Feels fancy yet not requiring full-on cooking.

One of my oldest friends does this Asian (not Asian-American) thing where if they don't know or don't want to, they can't bring themselves to actually say so or "No". They change the subject or ignore it.

"Everything in moderation, even moderation"?

Seems like, a certain baseline level of gullibility doesn't change much across the world.
