One of the things I love using Quillow for is chucking call notes / transcripts in there. Whenever I'm designing a new feature, it's so useful to have ultra accurate search and be able to ask questions to the AI that is grounded in all these call notes. #buildinpublic

Back on Bluesky, out of the cave. Edith is the new AI agent on top of Quillow. You can ask Edith take notes for you- it can even read web links and watch YouTube. You can ask questions about your notes or simply chat with it. On WhatsApp as well as web. #buildinpublic

Knowledge is not enough . Understanding is needed. Knowledge is just knowing facts. Understanding is the synthesis of knowledge and connecting the dots. This is what we need on an AI knowledge base. And this is what we’re building with Quillow.

Sprinting through the fog with a half-broken compass.

YT summaries working now- it's on a cool new whatsapp agent. Will be integrated to Quillow core so that it's not just your notes but also content you come across that is indexed in your knowledge base. Day 45 of #buildinpublic

Day 41. Back to the swing of things after taking a couple of days off with family. Smashed out some bug fixes to begin. The onboarding should be smoother now. Also mapped out the next 2 months to figure out where to focus energies. 100 days of #buildinpublic

Day 30 Chilled and squashed some bugs. Also, played with Claude computer use as a fun side adventure. Pretty expensive and fails at simple things, but that’s also how gpt-2 was. 100 days of #buildinpublic

Day 29 Merry Christmas! 🎄 New onboarding deployed. :) 100 days of #buildinpublic

Go faster or go further? This is the choice we as engineers and founders have after AI coding like cursor has 10x'd us. Do we get to the existing bar 10x faster. Or do we raise the bar of the product by 10x. 1 puts the entire value on distribution. 2 puts some of the value still on the product.

Day 24 Trying to revive an old project that did things like YT summaries and integrate that directly into Quillow. Looks like youtube has really cracked down on scrapers. 100 days of #buildinpublic

Day 23 Been head down with some users, late nights coding, falling sick, and figuring out next steps for Quillow. Today, I've been working on yet another version of onboarding. 100 days of #buildinpublic.

Day 16 Well so OpenAI is down... 100 days of #buildinpublic

Day 15 Clippy 2.0 and long term memory are closely related. Still working on this. Code is quite delicate atm. It feels like jenga. If my brain starts thinking of anything else now, feel like Jenga would collapse lol. 100 days of #buildinpublic

Day 14 Experimenting with clippy 2.0. Working on it to have context across all notes. 100 days of #buildinpublic

Day 13 Working on an assistant right on the editor itself to provide guidance. It's a bit of an experiment 🫢 🫢. #buildinpublic

Day 10 Did coolest thing with meta ray bans- “Hey meta take a picture (of a diagrams) and send to Quillow” A user was able to link Quillow SMS with the new iPhone action button! They sent me this vid. Trialing new onboarding. 100 days of #buildinpublic

Day 9 already, wow. New onboarding should be out tomorrow! The blank page of death will be abolished. Also spoke to a lot of users today and wrote down (on Quillow of course) a ton of niggles. 100 days of #buildinpublic

A framing I find useful is to think of Quillow-dot-Me as a personal data lake.

Day 8. Onboarding sucks atm. Will make it better. 100 days of #buildinpublic

Day 7 of #buildinpublic Trying out a cool new alternative to Twilio

Day 6. I want to accelerate the time to the brutal feedback that only a paywall can provide. So (only for new users) to balance this, I’m reducing the free words limit. :( Although this should act as a forcing function to make the product more valuable for everyone! #buildinpublic

Day 5. Images / screenshots can be processed on Whatsapp now. #buildinpublic

It's super important to produce original content based on our unique experiences in the age of AI so that we can use AI to extend our own brain rather than use it to replace our brain. --- Day 4.

Day 3 Images can be copy pasted into editor- this somewhat works. It's auto categorized and auto tagged; great for chucking interesting screenshots that you want to be searchable. #buildinpublic

Image notes i.e screenshots or photos of handwritten notes are super important. As are voice and video notes. Working hard to deliver a good experience for these! Day 2 on Bluesky. #buildinpublic

Whatsapp APIs are a pain! It basically broke this morning, but I've gotten it to work somewhat, so you can take notes by sending a whatsapp message (thanks Twilio). Also fixed some of the terminology- Pages are now Notes and Entities are now Categories.

Day 1 and first post on Bluesky. Building quillow.me - AI note taking app to make sense of unstructured notes.
