I desperately wish I could see more of a future for myself and the people I love.

Fell asleep last night thinking about Nickel Boys. Such a good book, such a good movie, and they're only better when taken together.

Just finished reading through these today. They're really good, definitely check this bundle out!

This works on here too

I read Tell Me I'm Worthless on Friday and Brainwyrms today, and I think Aliston Rumfitt has become one of my favourite authors. Not only that, but an author whose style is very close to the sorts of books I want to write. Definitely going to be looking out for more of her work in the future.

I get insecure so easily about not being the smartest person on the Internet because I want people to take my thoughts and my writing seriously and I really need to cut that out.

“Ego death people pleaser” ok but pleasing people is nice and fun and maybe the ego can die a little for that it’s fine

Finished both Hades Calculus and Tell Me I'm Worthless today, two stellar books.

b ❗️❗️ st !!!! the goal is still required, please share 💜

HEY, ONTARIANS: - Polls are open until 9pm today. - You do NOT need your voter card, but you DO need government-issued photo ID. - Parties will have drivers volunteering to take people to voting locations, so if you don't have access to transit or a vehicle, contact your party.

I wish I was a better writer, but unfortunately the only way to get there is to keep writing badly until I'm better. Maybe someday I'll be satisfied, but I doubt that day will be any time soon.

Reskeeting with alt text.

We are now live with Tim Seeley! Ask him anything! Peacemaker, Vigilante, Nightwing, Godzilla, Local Man, more! redd.it/1ix6wwl

Centrism and neoliberalism will be the death of us.

Okay, I've been wanting to say something about how I don't think art is for escapism (not in the way most people mean, i.e. "Art is for distracting me from the horrors for a while") but THIS? This I agree with. This feels like the antithesis to distraction.

Now obviously Bluesky should add private accounts but there should also be the option to lock individual posts at any time and maybe even set them to autolock once they hit a particular amount of activity.

A great thread on community maintenance, this stuff is super important.

Having a health emergency where people cared about me and helped me move quickly through the surgery and recovery process without having to pay a dime really underscored for me just how nice life can be when people actually support each other. I just don't comprehend why people would take that away.

i understand that her name is urmila. so cool. #skateboarding #xiaohongshu #worldtok

Cultural exchange (I tell my partner classic Twitter & Bluesky stories and they tell me classic TikTok stories)

I feel like Catch 22 is one of the most obviously leftist books just bc the protagonist is a smart guy who understands the insanity around him in perfect clarity, but nobody takes him seriously because it's also turned him into a miserable, high-strung neurotic And what's more leftist than that

New from @policyalternatives.ca: A piece by Cory Doctorow. Now that the U.S. has thrown out the terms of continental free trade, Canada should seize the moment and build less predatory alternatives to U.S. tech monopolies. #cdnpoli #CanadaUSTradeWar www.policyalternatives.ca/news-researc...

I think I've made this clear already but just in case— Moralizing at transhet or bi women about being attracted to men is homophobic, or biphobic. It's psychologically harmful and cruel to shame any queer people for their sexuality. The end.

Good morning, Bluesky! I may have gone through a mental breakdown last night, but it's a new day and so we press onwards!

It's cruel how much I must constantly deny myself and instrumentalize myself in an attempt to find a job and support the people I care about, and yet still, nobody thinks I'm worth the investment. Guess I should train for a second career already, before my first one ever had a chance to start.

Came up with a take last night that would get me dogpiled if I shared it publicly... This one's for only a select few friends, I fear...

the BBC released a documentary about eden today and i urge you and everyone you know to watch it

🚨FUNDRAISER TIME!!!🚨 Donate to any of the trans support organizations in the attached note and YOU can win one of four gift certificates to the Criterion website. Details in the note below, which I will pin to my profile

It feels like there's a gap here and in a lot of places that I've seen for good transfem analysis from a bi perspective. Would try and do something about it myself but I'm not a Poster and I don't know if I'd be able to articulate things well enough.

This thread really hits the nail on the head, I think, and is as good of a (hopefully) final word on this discourse cycle as I could expect to read.

every trans woman faces a moment in her life where if she isn't careful she'll suddenly be a journalist or an author

This just reminded me of the Dane Constantine vandalism, kinda wish they had managed to keep the ruse up on that one.
