#writingprompt: “Uhh, can’t you go back to your day jobs?”accidentally recruiting a whole lot of people to follow you without you even being aware it was possible throws the protagonist for a loop. The story is in what happened when they were unaware, and how things were settled.

#writingprompt: it’s a strange feeling when you realize someone is trying to find you, and take your stuff… but you don’t have much of anything except a bunch of debt and some busted cars. “Wait, am I the bait? Oh okay, let’s set up the ambush then”

#writingprompt: ever been that person who somehow ends up figuring things out, but usually the hard way? The protagonist gets themselves into a pickle and isn’t sure how to get out of it.

#writingprompt: ever been relentlessly pursued by a person a la Pepe la Pew style? Well, there’s this lovely little plot device from anime, called the Hammer… our protagonist receives the magical tool to deal with a villain who doesn’t understand no as an answer. (Cartoonishly, of course!)

To Americans: take a gander at this substack. It’s a summarization of what happened with Germany in 1933. This is why you don’t want to resort to violence to change the situation. You’re just going to lock it in. Stick to nonviolent methods. Refuse to comply.

I got a big reminder of why I am my spouse’s biggest fan… had a conversation about chips and marketing baffle gab, thermal noise, XY capacitors, online trolling, brief mention of Dave from the EEVBlog, then back to why you want papers backing new chip technology… Both 😍 & 🤯

#writingprompt: “what the heck did I just end up with?!?” Come up with a scenario where your main character says this line.

Any other Canadians get the feeling that the US is like an annoying little brother, constantly pushing boundaries and having to be reigned in? And if you leave them alone for a while, they go traipsing off on dangerous escapades and needing to be rescued? I’m totally feeling that way today.

#writingprompt: some idiot made it a rule that using Bluetooth headphones and microphones is bad all the time, and programmed things so stuff goes sideways and falls apart when selected individuals use them. They did not think through the full context and consequences and nuances.

Got a story for ya, from someone my spouse has known for decades and has worked for on a number of occasions. The guy has identified as conservative and voted that way for most of his life 🧵

I think we have to accept that the love of our own people is enough, because the world will never give us theirs. It has to be enough. It’s all we have and we are survivors not victims.

Just want to clarify something: every single #writingprompt is written in isolation, especially the one on inverting the meaning of composition. A person may choose to combine ideas for a written fictional story, but I am not combining them into one set of ideas.

Even though I actually rarely read the psychological thrillers I seem to come up with a lot of ideas along those lines. Think part of it is the remnants of the mental health issues from the past several years. It’s helping to write out the premise.

#writingprompt: your job is to be a digital genie. You are tasked to create whatever reality the person describes in any digital journal. You are to do exactly what they predicted for the future, even if it includes…
