Honored to be part of yesterday’s celebration at CBU, recognizing women’s basketball players from the Class of 1977 to 2024. Grateful for the opportunity to be part of the legacy of CBU basketball alongside amazing athletes, witnessing the evolution of CBU from NAIA to NCAA. Photo credit: CBU

I offer practical guidance here on ways to address last Friday’s frightening ‘Dear Colleague’ letter from the U.S. Department of Education. Please share widely.

Make your calls. Go to your town halls. Ask your state and local officials what they are doing under state and local law. Rest. Hydrate. Make soup for the hungry. Don’t let people tell you that you’re doing it wrong. Not a sprint. Not a marathon. A relay. Find your team. Thank you.

Happy Valentine’s Day! With appreciation, The @weareasca.bsky.social Board of Directors (Christy, Ebonee, Roberto, Joseph, Matt, Monica, Priscilla, Steve and Richard)

Day 3 of Black Student Action Week and National School Counseling Week! I thrive as a school counselor when: My students demonstrate confidence, a sense of belonging, and resilience to overcome challenges while embracing the diversity around them.

Black Lives matter at school because every student deserves to feel seen, valued and respected. It means black students see themselves positively in the curriculum they are learning (Pix with the man who authored ethnic studies in our state and helped get it approved as a graduation requirement).

Proud of our school and students. Here are a few things we implemented for Black Student Week of Action and National School Counseling Week @weareasca.bsky.social

Agree. Just do right by people. Even if they don’t acknowledge it.
