Delighted to announce the next Intraspect (VII) in Guildford on April 3rd, at 730pm (free). Details in further posts and info below! More info here: billthompson.org/aka_prof_lof...

I'm switching website providers and coming across lots of old content as I prepare my site to be migrated: This is a performance from 12 years ago as part of a Rough Mix residency in Glasgow. 5 performers performing w found objects and transducers with sounds from my live set: vimeo.com/63237521

One of my favourite gigs of past couple years: Intraspect V performing my piece Gates featuring @phildurrant.bsky.social, Mark Wastell, Angharad Davies, Yoni Silver, Rob Flint, Marjolaine Charbin, Paula Garcia Stone, and myself.

From the book "Culture is not an Industry" by Justin O'Connor.

Bad, and getting worse. The knock-on effects of institutions failing are going to be so bad.

So much great stuff still on Ubuweb: https://ubuweb.com/emr/index.html

24 Hour Noise stream happening right now out of the Bay area... Some great stuff being performed live. Thanks @weird_ear from the lines forum for the link: kzsulive.stanford.edu

I love my life in London but feeling very sad to be leaving Glasgow and friends today.

Won't be long now at @theoldhairdressers in Glasgow...doors at 730, film on now!

Soundcheck at #theoldhairdressers in Glasgow is in 30 minutes so graia fast burrito and reading Charlotte Joko Beck. Relating this to music opens up a vast expanse of calm for me.

My soundtrack as I arrive into Glasgow for the gig tomorrow at the #oldhairdressers is this brilliant album from @superpanghq.bsky.social by @nickklein.bsky.social & Makoto Oshiro. So good. superpang.bandcamp.com/album/spaced

Very happy to have my recent release on Ash International, And the Sky Breaks Open, played on @radiophrenia.bsky.social this April. More details on Radiophrenia's website in March...until then, you can listen to the track on Bandcamp: ashinternational.bandcamp.com/album/and-th... @touch33.net

Just finishing marking my 2nd year composition class. I rarely post about student work, but this sentence had me on the floor laughing: "The performers involved in the recording were X on bass guitar, X on acoustic guitar, and X on the glandular synth." I haven't listened yet, but I can't wait!!!

This is great @julesrawlinson.bsky.social !

I've had zero time to post about my upcoming gig at #oldhairdressers in Glasgow on Feb 1st. I'm super excited to be doing a solo Moog guitar & electronics set there again. Also performing are Eddie Prevost's trio & Harry Irvine. Come early to see the film A Bright Nowhere. shorturl.at/6kKb9

People often quote these “Irish blessings” like “May the road rise to meet you…” and all that sentimental stuff. However, my favourite, told to me by a fellow called Chris Roberts, is: “May the skin of your arse never cover a banjo” 😂

And now with a working link (thanks @olaspek.bsky.social ) Loving this album today: Feedback: Order From Noise from Various Artists mikroton.bandcamp.com/album/feedba...

A few shots from my walk by the River Dee in Aberdeen today.

One unexpected delight about having a 10 month old is listening to Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots as he eats his morning porridge. youtu.be/7TII2v4UdB8?...

Finished this one two nights ago. Great prose, memorable characters and twisty plot. Recommended.

I was going to link to the Harper magazine article about Liz Pelly's book on Spotify and fake artists but every link on CDM's @pkirn.bsky.social blog post is worth checking out: cdm.link/liz-pelly-sp...

Just finished Marc Ribot’s audiobook ‘Unstrung’ Fairly enjoyable though the end chapters felt like filler. The best part was discovering the guitarist Frantz Casseus. Performed by Ribot, truly lovely. https://marcribot.bandcamp.com/album/marc-ribot-plays-solo-guitar-works-of-frantz-casseus

Trying to redirect my newly crawling baby away from wires is like trying to redirect newborn turtles away from the sea!

Packing for a gig this evening, listening to an old Mojo mix. This song Gustavo by Mark Kozelek and Jimmy Lavelle kills me every time. Must be my El Paso roots shinning through. www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHG5... My gig will be - different - of course: www.tickettailor.com/events/theho...
