I love this film. This is a great little examination of it. Worth your time:

Real Talk At this point in my TTRPG lifespan, I just want people to refrain from cheesing charm effects on both sides of the interaction. It just kicks me right out of the narrative. But then, point of fact, most cheesing just ruins my immersion.

List of films my students will be choosing from without only vague descriptions and no titles: Ghost Dog The Guest Raising Arizona Children of Men Troll 2 Screening for after spring break with discussion to follow.

Expand the voices you present as NPCs. It can be intimidating to do so thoughtfully but the only way to get better at it is to try.

Where my head is at tonight:

Speed reading The Library of Babel by Borges aloud for my class was certainly a challenge. Now to do appreciate that they seemed to pay more and more attention as I went on.

I think it comes down to "What are your metrics for success?" My belief is that people are inclined to hold up the metrics that best support their personal takes. Some metrics include: Sales. New Players. Existing Players who change rulesets. Social media volume. Social media "vibes". >

God bless the Foleys.

In a #ttrpg, you have broadly 2 choices when including a maze. 1) Draw/find a map and just have the pcs move around in it. 2) Do away with the map. Make it a skill challenge. Just decide on possible encounters. Going for 2 for my next game.

Nice. Been holding off on taking another shot at this game until after the "last" patch.

Repost with a favorite book from childhood. Masquerade by Kit Williams Such a gorgeous book with such a fascinating story involving the treasure hunt it was designed around.

If this runs again next year, or some other point in the future, I do hope I learn more in advance and can make it. Right up my alley.

I’m just saying. If someone had told me you can play a cursed chicken in Pirate Borg, I would have picked it up sooner.

Y’all, I’m an English Professor. Please don’t let me be the wall stopping students from thinking whales are fish.

Need to actually write up the proper rules for Exquisite Corpse ttrpg before Dexcon in July.
