A Buffy reboot doesn't have to ruin Buffy if you don't like it! Buffy was a HUGE part of my growing up.. if the reboot sucks, s1-7 are, and will always be perfection (averts gaze from some s4 eps) ... Just let 'em go for it.. there's always the possibility it'll be awesome!
